We used cover from stone pillars, kited around, running while he used meteors and moved in quickly after to get a few hits on him. Rinse and repeat. We died a few times, but it wasn't much tougher than the previous bosses.
Use stamina potions when you need them, pack fire resistance, two or three per person. Don't bother blocking in this fight, just run. Do a lot of weaving in and out as he does his meteor. He will try to be sneaky and chain his beam attack after meteors, dangerous if you ran out of stamina. Eikthyr power is highly recommended so you can run more and by extension do more damage when you get a window. He has A LOT of openings, take advantage of each one. Every move is super telegraphed.
It's good practice to set down base structures (benches) around the boss spawn before you fight it, to reduce the amount of mob spawns to join the fray. If you need a breather you can dig under his spawn for a place to be immune from his meteors and get Rested back if needed.
Friend and I duo'd him after H and H, they did seem to buff him the fire did more damage than before. Give yourself some time to restore HP and use the 3/4 hp per tick foods.
I had the crystal battle-axe that I would use primarily, with another frostner/tower shield to jump in and tank when my buddy started getting low. Once he helped up we would switch back
(Heads up though, he never throws meteors at the person he is chasing)
And then we had another spamming frost arrows and tasty mead to keep up on stamina
Can someone please confirm these tactics are working post H&H patch, on multiplayer? Or even that you are able to kill him post H&H patch?
Looks like Sono has been the only one to kill him after H&H, so far.
Our issue seems to be that while we run to dodge attacks, he regens life ...so we can barely damage him to begin with. On top, when moving to avoid his meteor/lazer/whatever, we end up with 2-4 additional enemies on us, and die from that too. It really seems super unbalanced for 2 player MP.
He has destroyed all the fingers, our base, and everything nearby... There is no real way to avoid his attacks other than running, which leads to getting killed by a party of lox/fuelings/deathquitos ...and they do not take any damage from the boss' attacks, so...you are on fire, dodging, and being chased by say, two lox, a fueling and two deathsquitos ... :/
Thanks again for all the comments!
1. Use Silver sword as spirit damage is useful on Yagluth.
2. Use fire resistance mead
3. Bring health and stamina potions
4. You can hide under Yagluth himself from the meteors. His head will block most of them.
5. Try not to stand in the blue fire if you can avoid it. The initial blast itself can be blocked as of H&H.
6. If you need to regen and your potion is on cooldown, keep an obstacle between you and him, but watch out as he might laser through it if the distance beween you is too high.
I'm about to start another play through, slowly, on a different seed. I might try the lox bomb I saw.
Yeah, i'm considering doing this to. Before H&H I beat him twice solo. This go around I just don't know. I'll try a couple of more times with different play styles and see what happens.
It costs like 36 stone to make one.
To deal with spawns, just dig a trench and raise ground araund the boss arena and no spawns will be able to help the boss. (well exept moskitos)
Didn't bother to parry, just ran straight to him and just hit hit hit him in melee and when my initial stamina ended took stamina potion right away to continue till out of stamina, then my HP was also quite down and i used the first health potion. This first sequence of attacks already took about 35-40% of his HP.
After that i managed to bait and make him crawl towards me around one of his "finger-stone pillars" a few times (needed to hug the pillar otherwise he used his abilities), this saved me much (awaited) hassle when i needed to wait for HP regen and potion cooldowns.
All in all, soloing him didn't seem much different from when i fought him a couple months ago.
I wonder if it is breaking for some of us, since the other responses state they can kill him, hide behind structures, etc...
Anyway, thank you all for the feedback, greatly appreciated!

Bonemass is best for that... "Bow Training Dummy" there's actually a YT video about how to do it.
I play solo and I cannot beat him. I have fire mead, stamina mead, health mead, upraded armor, bow, made the best food available and man oh man, cant even scratch him. Arrows (freeze and needle) do nothing, blackmetal sword does something, but whenever I dodge his attack he regen to his full health. I am gonna try it with the big shiled (someone here suggested it) and with spirit dmg.. otherwise I dont know how I could beat him.
I tried using those monoliths once. Yag's meteor attack will turn any rock into a pile of stones in short order.
