Well, actually, it might just get you tossed from accessing that server unless you were to re-phrase it a bit.
03/29/2021 09:36:38: Peer 76561198015670820 has incompatible version, mine:0.148.6 remote 0.148.7
"
So I shut down the server and then I ran this command:" steamcmd +login anonymous +app_update 896660 validate + force_install_dir /home/steam/steamcmd +quit "
But I was unable to login due to the aforementioned error code
Then tried running: " steamcmd +app_uninstall 896660 +quit " and retried the first step. So (at the time of this posting) dedicated server files apparently still haven't been updated yet. and I'm still getting the incompatibility error.
Long story short. (&me thinks) There's an update for the game, but not for the dedicated server yet.
1. Set Steam to ONLY update when you launch the game.
2. Now go into the install folder and set a shortcut to your desktop or have Steam do it. It is done on install automatically
3. Now only start the game with the shortcut never EVER with Play on the Steam Client/Your Library.
This method simply bypasses Steam checking for updates. You still need Steam running but means your game does not update until you want it too and you can play the old version forever. I have used this so far on Empyrion, Arma 3, 7 Days to Die.

who ever runs your server, needs to update to the newest version. There was an update to Valheim today.
Uninstalled/Reinstalled Valheim Dedicated Server and got the new version.
The world stopped loading!
After testing, I found that the world is now saved and loaded from "AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds" instead of "Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim dedicated server\save"
I copied the backed up world to the new location and we're up and running again!
that's alyways been the location of my dedicated server world
