Don't look in top right corner.
Problem solved.
Asking someone not to look at a large portion of their UI is a bit much.
He could play the game blind folded. Playing it with your eyes open is just too easy
I've seen this with a lot of games. Usually games that have been around awhile though, like ARK. Server owners will install some mods that normally make the game easy, but then they edit the config to essentially disable the mod. Your playing along, trying to unlock the items in the mod. When you do, you find out you can't really use them as the mod author intended.
Maybe there is some desire to just prank everyone they trick into playing on their server. To me it feels like an obsessive need to control other people.
Ping would be busted with no map unless they changed the way it's activated anyway, making finding your way back to a party without no real guide practically impossible without littering the land with beds, and then you only get ONE spawn point, not like other games were you can choose your rez zone. Unless those things are changed maps are likely here to stay.
This is starting to sound like a pirate game.
Less UI the better imho, I am about blind but still have my UI turned way small
