How to build a bridge with underwater fundament?
I tried placing wood beams as a base, but no matter how I place them they just eventually degrade and I imagine this will lead them to breaking the whole bridge, I tried to use couple tutorials but still even following them gives no effect, the bridge still degrades even though all planks are green. Can you even build a bridge using wood or you need log beams and rocks?

Grfeat simple way to make a bridge, if you need one in deeper waters I suggest using the mod build camera off Nexus as building in water is a pain.
Yeah I built exactly like in this tutorial, and things still degrade, but I guess its normal as pointed out by folks above.

Yes, you can cover the part above wayer so the gloor tiles do not degrade but teh parts underwater will always degrade. Only stone pillars are unafected by sitting underwater.

So they won’t break after awhile with that? Whats the point of it degrading then? Does it limit the amount of pressure I can put on them?

Put a roof over them, and they won't degrade anymore.

Thanks Dread, that was awesome. I will be using this a LOT. great for docks too. I had a hard time with the dock I started, this will definitely get me to finish it!

No worries this is a pretty easy way to make bridges and I use it all the time, the fellow who made the video definitely deserve a like (it is not me in case anyone would say I was self promoting... I am not) :steamsunny:

Couple of things that should be clarified.. putting a roof over the bridge will not help the parts that get submerged, as this degrade effect happens to parts that either get rained on or get submerged. I'm not sure how far underwater it has to get, I have wood doors that regularly get submerged maybe up to my characters knees and they never degrade from that. Also, the degrading does nothing to structural integrity, I guess the idea is just that pieces left to the elements are easier for enemies to knock down. Last thing, stone doesn't degrade so if you want underwater support pieces that won't degrade, just use the stone pillars.

Btw if you want to build really underwater you need flymodus and first person sight

Made several bridges and ennemies never attacked them. Ennemies attack structure you're in only or so it seems. They do attack any workbench tho.
