It's kinda what the game wants you to do.
This is how you 'move'.
But let's face it, with the exception of moving storage boxes and their contents, which is a time consuming process, everything else is just one swing of the hammer. So how much time are you really saving?
While it can be frustrating to have to rebuild you can also rebuild better with things you learned since then.
My first base was pretty basic since then I changed seeds twice. My 3rd base has now a full port with 2 docks conmtaining a fully upgraded workbench and forge (one being fully covered) A separate kitchen, player house, 2 pens (one for boars and one for wolves), 2 fields for carrots and turnips a well sized player house with great comfort bonus and a vault room to stash all my stuff.
All that protected by a stone and wood fence all around and I do still have room for windmills and stuff.
I woudl have never thought I would be able to make somthing that complex but I surely wouldn't have if I had the ability to copy / paste buildings.
Really the only items that would use the feature though.
Here we can see a random idiot that thinks a different opinion is "moaning", the 14 yo me could agree with you.
Also, he is not the only one "moaning" about it, there is a mod on nexus with a lot of downloads that make possible to move objects instead of destroying it.
