Map is not the same with the same seed number in a new game

I wanted to restart my map and made a new game with the same seed. The map is similar to but not the same as the original.
I have tried to copy the seed but it will not copy. any tips?
I have typed the seed in with all variable combinations, such as I, or l, or 1 and it is still different. The 0 is very different from O or o, so I am sure it is a zero. Are they using foreign text characters where I need to use the alt n instead of the English letter? Those too are very obvious if they are not an alt variant.
Or is the same seed generated with certain variables that change?
I really would like to restart the same map with my current character.

Confirmed seeds are messed up. ive tried several recently posted on youtube and the maps are not the same.

Ah thank you. I thought it was me. I thought there was something I was missing with the seed.

Yep I can confirm that the same seed does not always give the same map for whatever reason.

Its possible the fix for maps last patch (moder in all maps, etc) caused some changes to the generation algorithms so old seeds may not repeat now. If new seeds have variation, that is... interesting... wonder if its intentional?

The only difference from the Version is the location from Moder.
Its a big Islands layout like a butterfly.
If you got a different Layout somthing is wrong with caps or digits.

Its not messed up, anytime the map generation gets updated or changed even in a minor way, its going to invalidate pretty much any old seed's you have. This generally happens in most games where you random gen a map via a seed. Basically expect each update to change what the seed your using makes, its just the nature of this sort of map generation.

Yes they are similar but not the same. Ruins, bosses, swamps, plains generate in the same areas. So far the land masses are very similar with the swamps being pretty much the same shape and place. But the starting point is what is most important to me. The hilly area, coastline, resources nearby was a good location. In every duplication of the seed after that it has not been as good. Less boar, necks, deer, berries, etc.
Scyris - I have never had any game give a map or seed that has been different from the original. Sorry, but when you want to restart a map after you've learned some good tactics it is key that the map be the same. If I wanted to start a new game/map I would not be using the same seed. I've been in games for quite a while now.

Maybe use seeds you see a typo.
