Old beds

I like to reclaim deserted shacks as survival stops. Is there anyway to remove the old bed? I build over the top of it now but it looks like he’ll.

Four answers.. not so correct.

You need to get ride of the bed with axe like they say but you cant build a new one without building another crafting station and you have to have a roof over both of them to make i them work. [ps you can build the crafting station for building the bed and roof.. the crafting station claims the area. You cant use either without a roof.

Four answers and all of them were very correct. OP asked how to get rid of them, which one does with an axe (or weapon of your choice).

OP also said he builds on top of them, so obviously he has a workbench around.

ALSO you dont have to have a roof over your workbench to be able to build structures...

Put down crafting station. Equip hammer. Hover over old bed & click mouse-3 (center scroller) to destroy it. Then can also use to repair damaged building pieces and patch any holes as well as craft a bed. You will need a roof to sleep in bed and to use tool crafting. You will also need a campfire or other heat source near your bed before it will let you sleep.

You can't deconstruct the damaged world gen beds with a hammer.

Thank you Mrs Unreality 7th grade English teacher advice is always welcome. I never wanted to listen to those stupid Nuns in Gradeschool anyway. But really, sometimes my fingers just type what they want. And proofreading is just not worth it here.
