Make mobs drop metal loot
200+ hours in and I thoroughly enjoy the game. However I have come to notice after certain points you no longer need to kill particular mobs due to just not needing what they offer. So I am suggesting that they allow mobs to drop metal ore from the biome they are in or below. ie greydwarves and skellies can drop bronze, wolfs drop silver and bronze (only one kind per drop though) etc. Even if they are rare drops it would be cool to get it. Just a random thought as we are forced to keep fighting things we no longer want too why not make it more enticing. Also put more chests in the crypts and chambers filled with more variety of stuff (berries, wood, etc) and possibly as a very rare find put weapons and even armor. This would make us want to go in there even after we have all the ores/cores we need. Instead of just skipping it. Once again I am loving the game and am very happy I bought it.

Or perhaps an ultra rare currency that can only be used at a currently unreleased NPC?

wolves dropping iron bars is something I would vote against its kinda odd, but I agree we need more uses for Troll Leather and Bones, besides that I use everything else, yes after a while dwarf eyes stack up, but their are a bunch of updates planned, the next one is Hearth and Home, so hoping with have more things to craft I seen a Bone looking Dream catcher in a SS so just might be a good thing.

Having mobs drop metal stuff would break the progression system. You wouldn't need to kill the bosses for their drops to progress.

Main thing that keeps me checking Black Forest crypts is feathers. Wolves could drop more meat. At this point they are cannibals but with Hearth and Home update it looks like they are changing the food system a bit and adding wolf meat.

Depending on your seed and level of progression and playstyle it can be hard to have enough things like resin for all the torches or eyeballs for all the portals. But things like that won't effect you if you don't use much of them.

Beyond that having mobs drop metal also means you would end up with metal all over the place or left in boxes all over the map while you explore. Black metal is kind of annoying for that but at least Goblins have villages so you can "mine" it that way.

I meant the metal drops to be rare like 1 in 10 or 20. Just a reason to want to kill the dwarves and Skellies that constantly attack you. A wolf could have ingested small amounts of metal and that is why they drop it very very infrequently. I think they should let us craft bone arrows very similar to wood arrows with the same damage as it will help us use stock we no longer need.

Yeah , it's a no for me on mobs dropping metal ( I hear the orange blobs "can" drop iron, but I've never seen it in 750 hours). Granted they are kinda rare. Fulings already drop metal. That's 2 different mob dropped metals in game already. Maybe some yet unreleased mob in an unreleased biome dropping metal , sure I guess. But most mobs dropping random metal?

The motivation to kill dwarves and skellies is self preservation.

I can get behind a bone arrow or a bone tip arrow for sure though.
