Unless there was some part of the process of creating it where a large portion had to be stripped away and discarded. But of coarse that's not how alloys work so yes, we should get 3 ingots.

Lug 600 pounds of copper and tin to the forge. Prance away with 200 pounds of bronze and zero pounds of slag.

Then use that 200 pounds of bronze to make about 16 pounds of gear.

and then you need iron to max out the bronze weapons wtf.. pls fix this, we should have maxed out bronze gear and weapons before entering the swamp :steamfacepalm:

Does seem a little weird, doesn't it? Reasonably we're only picking up the pieces of the deposit that has enough ore for us to see - we're not going to know about or chance the idea that some random hunk of rock might be 2% iron. Fair enough. But... Once that ore is refined and the slag discarded, why are we losing 184kg of refined metal to make a 16kg sword? I've gotten used to hauling 400kg of metal cross-country for five minutes to make a sword but... That doesn't make it right.

That's just one of the weird quality-of-life fixes I wish they'd make. There's enough busy-work with the process of (potentially) rebuilding one's entire manufacturing process for each tier that we don't need to be mysteriously losing 9/10ths of our metal too.

...unless.

...maybe we're secretly fueling Odin's war machine and we just don't know it. What we 'lose' is being whisked away by Thor in his sky-chariot. Possibly to buy more horses.

Or our character is just REALLY bad at blacksmithing.

See now this makes sense... we knew we were brought here for a reason , we knew the "fight Odin's enemies" thing was dubious at best.

We are finally beginning to get to the TRUTH!

Seems "Odins will" involves a serious case of extreme taxation. We've been had!

The only two certain things are death and taxes and it appears taxes continue through death,

I like how it takes 1100 pounds (80 pieces) of silver to make and fully upgrade the draugr fang bow, which, of course, is made of wood and string. Makes perfect sense.

Wood , string, Guck, and SILVER.... and it's magic, it glows, and it deals absurd damage, and inflicts poison. Silver well spent.

When in doubt, blame Loki

110% agreed.

Oh no no no, you can't go 110% without giving it at least 115%.

I'd make the smelting process make a bunch of slag, a high % of the ores weight and make the ingots weigh a lot less. Then beat a tiny amount of slag out during forging also. THEN make it so you have to dispose of ALL the slag properly, cuz it's possessed with DEMONS, and they'll spawn from the slag creating an attack event proportionate to the amount of slag, within reason... This is conveniently the also reason you can't take metal though portals, cuz of the demons.
