Because whatever you do in your own game is totally fair in my book and you should not let anyone judging you for it.
Whatever makes you have fun: go for it.
Either way, it doesn't matter, our opinions shouldn't take away or add to your enjoyment of the game. Just play the way you want to. It's a non competitive game so just have fun.

Hell there is no cheating in Singleplayer. And its completly on you if you apply cheese.
I Often add some Gouda and Tilsit only Harz Cheese is too much for me.
Well, you've looked at the seed, which is not part of playing the game, so yes. No brainer, obviously it's cheating. It's like looking through the deck and knowing the order of cards when playing poker.
Closer to looking through the deck to play solitaire, actually... if you play solo
The possible problem with any kind of cheating or seed-peeking is you are potentially ruining a huge part of what compels a person to keep playing. You really have to limit it or it can completely ruin your experience and as a result, you just stop playing.
Do what you have to but be careful you don't cheat yourself out of bothering to even play.
How many crypts in the first swamps that are nearby, the trader's location...those matter a lot and will dramatically change your game. Getting the strength belt early is a major, major boon, and the amount of iron you pull in early will really change the game.

However I haven't even found the third boss yet so getting a bit ahead of myself :P
That's it. If anyone has a problem with you using anything in the game normally, and sometimes coming out on top as a result, they are just being sad/salty.
