Serpent spawn conditions

Spawn serpents only at night and when there is a storm, or do they spawn during the day too?

Sea Serpents spawning during day is very rare, you'll see them often at night or during storms. Stormy nights are always a match for me. Ocean biome only, afaik.

Day, night, weather... hasn't made a noticeable difference for us.

Ive had them spawn in the day, if you spot one spawn mark it on the map as it will mostly re-spawn after some time although not always.

whenever there is a storm go sail on ocean, basicially the night is better, but even during the day, a serpent or two will show up.

1.if you only want the meat, you can kill the serpent at sea using a bow. the meat will float.
if you also want the scales, you have to drag it ashore.

2.longboat has more hitpoints, and is a bit faster if you have the wind on your back. both ship will outrun the serpent with good winds, so you can bow it down without taking damage if you only want meat. itll stop chasing you after a while, turn back and agro him again.

I always used the smaller boat, easy to maneuver and fast enough to prevent getting hits, once you harpoon serpent, you can drag it on the land for long distances, so it won't be in water or close to your boat. forstner also help when killing it, since it frezes it.

I've only seen them during the day in calm waters.
