How do I survive the planes? What gear and weapons do I need to survive?

Iron is Ok. Id recommend Silver. If youre good at the game you can survive there with low level iron gear but theres no point being in the plains when youre not very far in the game.

Silver will make your life easier and its much easier to get than iron.

Its more that you have to be cautious, keep an eye out for deathsquitos, they like to swoop at you in pairs while your fighting something else.

Those 2 star furlings can 1 shot you, so have a good shield and upgrade it. Parry block is very useful against furling.


If you're trying to clear a village i would recommend putting a portal nearby (not tooclose though!) And don't pull the whole village, just shoot one furling near the edge and you should only draw 3 or 4 at a time.

Those are my tips. After mastering the mountain and getting full silver gear we felt invincible. We died a lot in the plains

Iron at minimum to not get instantly yoinked. Silver is what you want though.

If ever encountering those little flying death squads, the best weapon is the Ooze bombs, just throw them in between you & the horrific flying creature & run. Useless weapon otherwise.

Lvl 4 iron is lvl 1 wolf. Bare minimum, with a scale shield.
Your weapon of choice, silver tier. Good food and meads for hp/stam.

Iron can be enough if your weapon/blocking skills are somewhat high and you don´t suck at the game. Pray to Odin that you don´t meet a 2 star fuling tough, can be done if he is alone, but i hardly ever see them alone.

I recommend silver aswell, best fully upgraded, 2 stars can still mess you up pretty bad and fast then if you make a single mistake.

Whoever said silver is easier than iron to get--that's very ambiguous and situational. You're going to have a really hard time getting silver without killing Bonemass first, and if you're going to kill Bonemass (and not cheese the fight) then you're going to want to gear up anyway so you should be in iron. Yes, you can kill Bonemass without taking a single hit if you want to rush through things. OK, assuming you did that and you're in full bronze or troll armor--you're going to get wrecked in the mountains looking for silver. Wolves will destroy you, drakes will bombard you and you'll get 1 shot by the stone golems. Get your iron armor on or accept the fact that if you're wearing less than upgraded iron, you'll probably get destroyed in the mountains if you're far enough to actually find any silver. There are exceptions, this is all general skill/progress. Any tryhard uberwarriors who are perfectly fine in the mountains wearing bronze or troll armor, then good for you--you're not the target audience for this post, I think. Speaking of which--sure, fully upgraded iron will enable you to explore some of the plains. Fully upgraded wolf (silver) armor gives you a much better chance at survival. Then, if you're somewhat successful, at some point you'll start gaining some padded/blackmetal armor/weapons and then the full exploration of the plains begins. Something like that.

a bow. shoot the fliers before they see you. avoid giggly goblins unles 1x1 or can bow them down from top of a rock. Make a shield from your iron from those few stragglers. then look to a village of them to clear, you need flax asap

get better food! i was able to explore plains with 60ish armor and 200 HP. it was not easily. i took it SLOWWWW. aviod the night and golbin villages

Yeah I could've phrased that better - I meant it's less of a grind to get silver.

Get the wolfie armor and upgrade it the best you can. Also try to have the best HP and stamina you can. The Plains are tough when you don’t yet know how things happen. Either way, you’ll die. Trial and error until you figure it out.

Lol right. I was just exploring the plains in my fully upgraded wolf armor and fought a two star fuling with the frostner and just before I could finish him with the last hit he simply oneshoted me with his melee weapon lol. I think I had around 150 hp at that point so yea take care those guys hit hard :D
