Since this is the case, I recommend Valheim Plus, available here: https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/4
It combines multiple mods in one, provides a base modification for Valheim to increase quality of life, tweaks the game's difficulty, and in general, improves the player's experience.
Especially if you just started with modding this would probably be the best choice for now since you don't have to mess with multiple mods that may interfere with each other.
Also, please remember that mods are not officially supported, they may corrupt your savefiles or your install. Use at your own risk.
BE WARNED. Some mods create added inventory space to the character, and containers in game. If you run mods that restructure inventory, you may lose items that are in those slots if you disable the mod for Vanilla play with friends.
The downside is you'll need to download a few other mods that are needed to get Do or Die to function. Maybe a little headache, I know I had my problems with it but the bottom line imo, it's like playing a whole different game.
I've also looked at Skyheim but I'm not quite sure about this one, it kind of feels like it breaks the original game feel.
Do Or Die seems to be deleted from both Nexus and Thunderstore.
So far I've installed maybe 10-15 mods and now the game feels quite revamped, so for now I can continue gaming without waiting for devs to bring in more content :D
Nexus has a scratch for almost every itch you can think of, it really depends on what you are
looking to change. Personally I cherish those mods that fix tedious game play mechanics
like mass farming, quick deposit and build from containers. Others that I wouldn't want
to miss anymore are Equipwheel, Glutton and auto fuel. Equipment & Quick slots
deserves to be mentioned, but unfortunately that mod has issues (you might lose your
stuff). I might have quit the game after defeating the Elder, hadn't it been for "Passive
Forsaken Powers".
I don't even feel guilty about Eikthyr's power being passive. The stamina system in Valheim
is terrible. What did that Viking die from? A tobacco induced respirational illness?
I was wondering the same thing. last time I played was back in May.
From what I could gather any mods I came across online are utilization mods for people who have no tolerance for grinding, which I really enjoy that part of the game, to each their own. Even Valheim plus makes the game too easy for me.
I am like you and wouldn't mind a difficulty mod, but I am looking for like an actual overhaul of someones own design and not just taking the games code and extending storage, durability, etc. But until Valheim supports modding like that I doubt we will see anything like that.
