Controller problems.
Need help. The last 2 times I've loaded up the my game my character will run or walk a few steps then stop or do a 180 and walk very slowly in the opposite direction. I've been playing since launch with no issues on controller. This is ruining my game. It's to the point that i cant even play it. I've used different controllers so i know that's not the problem.

I have no idea why people prefer controllers over a mouse and keyboard for games like this but some people do. Unfortunately a lot of folks are having controller issues.

Here are some posts/articles about controller issues that I found, they may help. There are more out there, just use your favourite search engine.

Some of us can only play games with a controller, so it can be very frustrating when things don't work correctly or are limited in how well they are implemented.

I just find controllers so imprecise I can't imagine someone preferring a controller over a keyboard and mouse if it's an option. I can understand it if there are physical limitations and a controller is the better option, though.

LOL, I'm curious what 'precision' is needed in the control scheme of this game....LOL. Circle straf on the AI run-a-round imperfection makes really no need for precise control. I can understand the need for precise pointing control in those games with super tiny highlight objects or intricate puzzle solving; none of that is in this title. This is a 'kill/collect' paradigm with very few controls needed.

...as you can probably tell, I utilize a controller and find no 'issues' with using it, other than not being able to enter alphaNumeric text or marking a spot on the map?

Prioritize better according to who? You have one guy demanding more bosses, another more farming, another building, another bug fixes, another multiplayer, another more biomes, another npcs. Everyone thinks their issue/wants is the most important.
They can't prioritize everything.
Seeing as only a tiny percentage of the community uses controllers, its not going to be a high priority. Sucks if you prefer controls or need to use them because of disability, but obviously they are going to focus on the things that have the largest impact on the most players. I'd love them to add colorblind options so I don't need a mod to find shrooms and berries, but I also understand that's going to be a very low priority thing at this point.

I bet you can't even hit a deathsquito with a bow outside of 10m

...pay up. Bigly, please. Controller works fine for arrows, all I pretty much utilize. Birds, Deathsquitos...very small target, controller hits just fine, once you get the timing down when the squitos dart and weave. I stand on my Plains farming plateau all night long and shoot seagulls and everything that crosses my path. 10 m...bout 30ish ft. ya, no problem with controller.
