later on in the game is there a faster way to move around the world?

Besides boats, are there faster ways of traveling? I would imagine it would be sort of tedious to keep walking back to your home base on foot.

Mmmmmm don't know if your trolling or not but yes there is, portals. If you've built a boat or seen the recipe then you'd have unlocked recipe for portals. Build two and see what happens

lol I wasn't trolling I didn't know there are portals, I just started the game and I was curious if there were any.

Travel time is a huge issue in this game even with portals you need one at your base that's not one that's already connected. ,then need to set up one where you are.

First off, boats get faster. The raft goes a fraction of the speed of the Karve, and the Longboat goes even faster. (wind permitting)
Then there are portals, you just can't take ores or ingots through them.
Its best to build near water access as it allows you to easily move large amounts of stuff around later on, as the Longboat has 18 inventory slots.

Also note to be sure you name the portals exactly the same for them to connect.

They nerfed putting carts in boats quite a while ago. They added a weight factor to the carts chests and the more you load the slower you travel. It isnt worth overloading it.

1. Take all your ores & ingots on you.
2. Disconnect & create a new world, drop all ores & ingots on it.
3. Reconnect to your old world, go through portal.
4. Disconnect & go to new world. Pick up all ores & ingots.
5. Reconnect to your old world, all the ores & ingots are now through the portal.
