Where are dungeons?

I seen guides and vids saying they are in black forest but Ive spent the last TWO HOURS going through all the black forest around me I can find and not a single dungeon. Found lots of troll caves but no dungeons so can't advance cause can't smelt.

You can go to the valheim-map.world site and it will show your entire world map with no fog of war and you can select it to show where crypts and such are. Kinda cheating probably...maybe...

Usually, the entrance to such caves is guarded by 3 skeletons, if you stumble upon them, then consider that somewhere near there are burial rooms. Just don't confuse it with the skeletons in the destroyed stone buildings.

You needn't look to anything outside of the game to find them . I have played many different seeds and there are always crypts in the black forest. Looks like a door, you load into it. The only other thing in BF that you can load into is a troll cave. You'll know if you load into a troll cave. And you will be able to discern between the two.

also there are literally hundreds of "black forest" in any given seed. Do not think that the on e you looked at is the only one.

I got some crazy hidden dungeons. So about 30 minutes after posting this the raven comes down on top of this dungeon to tell me it's there but it's so hidden behind 2 trees and a stump I barely even see it.

Go to the black forest take food and just explore opening the map . If a skellington attacks you or you hear them start searching in the area , if you can t see a stone ruin building theres a massive chance its a dungeon , pop in side i usually just follow the left wall and collect everything as i go , outside at the entrance open your map , double left click an icon you wana use to remind you whats there and label , if you wana remove it i think its right click or double right click the icon on the map , you can use it to label berries and stuff because they will respawn
In the swamp be extra careful search around the swamp areas for glowing green lights this usually gives away the dungeons from a distance , my friend searched one part of a swamp and found no dungeons in it where as i found a small patch and had like 9 dungeons in an area i usually make a little base to leave a cart with a bench and fire , to drop off , fix and carry away my loot , i have also made a road in the swamp to link the dungeons to my port so i can get in and out and away without all those punch ups defending your cart from monsters , you will also find markers to the next mutant monsters in the dungeons , have fun

I can barely walk through any forest without stumbling into a burial chamber every other step, the things are absolutely everywhere. As someone said, skellies are put outside as guards. If you're coming from the "wrong" angle the caves might just look like big rocks, but they're definately there. You absolutely ran past a lot of them.

If you still can't find them and feeling adventurous, find a swamp and they might have a Surtling spawn (huge fire geysers), they drop cores for you to start forging.
Wouldn't try that tho, Swamps are kinda messed up if you don't have gear for it.

They are where you find 3 skeltons guarding. If in the black-fo you get attacked by skeletons you can guess that a dungeon or sometimes 2 is nearby.

Well all seeds are different. I went ahead and used the map site only to find that in the huge area I was searching there was only 4 dungeons. And they were all clustered around the same spot. Made it nice since I already built hut after found the first in picture I showed. But to find more seems I really have to venture out a lot further into more unknown regions.

What seed are you playing on that they are practically everywhere? I'd like to see that.

Husqvarna. Had trouble finding a swamp with crypts, but burial chambers? Not so much.
