Wolves don't attack other wolves

So I tamed myself a hunting pack of Wolves . It was fun to start with with 8 savage beasts by your side that attack anything within a 10 meter radius. But now I don't get a look in lols. But I am alive so all good on that front. The problem is now i took the pack to the mountains but they will not attack wild wolves which is pretty pointless.

I don't understand why they don't. I mean they don't attack the tamed Boars but if they see a wild boar they will rip it to shreds. The whole point taking them to the dangerous places was to insure a little protection. Plus I cannot take a swipe at the wild wolves as they are too close to the pack well they are in it. The only way I know they are the wild ones is by the exclamation mark above their name. And the fact they are trying to eat me. Any way the pack can attack wild wolves please

Nope , them will no attack other wolves , comparing with boars has not sense , them arent the same species

I don't tame creatures, but what you say sirkipalot makes sense. That and wolves are pack animals who don't like other packs, they should see wild wolves as enemies. When you tame them, they should see you as the alpha and fight for you.

I wonder if it's a code thing where a species won't attack there own. Will a tame boar attack a wild boar?

I did answer your question but it seems it wasn't allowed for some reason. Strange as it was the same answer Ryzilynt gave

Sounds like it's just a wolf issue, they should attack wild wolves if they attack other wild things. The boars not attacking anything, that's kind of meh, they don't sound like they're intended to be a guard pet anyway.

Most pet dogs will defend their home from any threat, including other dogs. So if this is true it's silly and defeats the purpose of taming pet wolves, especially if you've raised a few generations turning into defacto house pets. Needs to be fixed.

I just defeated Moder in less than 5 minutes with a pack of tamed dogs. Moder attacked them (since they were attacking him) while I stood at a distance and shot poison, fire, and obsidian arrows. He never attacked me. Easiest Boss win of all. Thanks to tamed wolves. I prepared for the battle by creating a flat area around the altar, removing trees and rocks, and cutting a path through the mountains to make it easier for the wolves and I to approach the altar. But the actual battle was easy.
While wolves to not attack other wolves or Fenrings, they do attack greydwarfs of all sorts. I'm about to find out if they'll help me against enemies in the prairie.

Things don't attack their own kind for the practical reason that if you are taming a group, and they are taming at different rates, they would all end up fighting each other when one became tame but the others were still "wild". By making things not fight their own kind this is avoided.
