I support this idea.

In the meantime, you can do the following: when you start a new world with a new character, wait until the loading phase finishes. When the blue vignette screen shows up, press ESC and select "Logout". Then select your character and the world again and you will arrive at the spawn shrine and you skipped the cutscenes. Not perfect, but much faster I think.

If that is pre-rendered video then I believe you can just delete/replace that video file to skip it in game.

? why are you making suggestions when you don't own the game and therefore aren't aware of what the OP is referring to? 🤨

Well some games do that.. but this game does not.

The map is generated when you enter and you actually are clearing part of the map during the fly in. Since it is unique each time I don't think it is just a generic prerecorded segment you could put an anime op in or something ha ha.

Personally I take the chance to look around before I land to get an idea of where stuff might be, like spotting a black forest patch or seeing where the ocean is.

Isn't a new world created according to the grain when the video is running?

If anything it is probably being created during the text sequence or before. Once the fly in starts you are flying over your world.

Just hit M during the fly in to see for yourself.

Mod it out. It's very easy to do.

I took a character I previously created solely for the purpose of testing a basic movement mechanic. That viking has not gathered anything, crafted anything, interacted with anything. He has just moved a few meters in one direction or another.

I created a new world for him and started the game. Once I pressed the Start button, the screen went black except for the cursor and the word "Loading..." in the lower right quadrant. Then the screen dissolved to the initial spawn point for a game with the viking facing the center monolith and Hugn off slightly to the left.

No scrolling text about Odin, no gigantic raven with a viking in his claws flying over a world.

A new world is created during that initial screen, black except for the cursor and "Loading...".

magic moose's workaround is the method I would use. Karsul's suggestion should also work but I don't like the idea of permanently altering the program to gain a trivial advantage over the workaround.

Worlds being built and rendered during all that. Since some people have lower end systems the thing has to be long and slow enough to accommodate. You come in slowly so things have enough time to load smoothly instead of popping in, especially with a storm going.

Don't Die.... but seriously, This is a suggestion thread and belongs in the "ideas and suggestions" sub-forum to the right of main forum, if you are serious about wanting the devs to consider this option, post there.
