In the meantime, you can do the following: when you start a new world with a new character, wait until the loading phase finishes. When the blue vignette screen shows up, press ESC and select "Logout". Then select your character and the world again and you will arrive at the spawn shrine and you skipped the cutscenes. Not perfect, but much faster I think.
the support, and the work around.
good job.
The map is generated when you enter and you actually are clearing part of the map during the fly in. Since it is unique each time I don't think it is just a generic prerecorded segment you could put an anime op in or something ha ha.
Personally I take the chance to look around before I land to get an idea of where stuff might be, like spotting a black forest patch or seeing where the ocean is.
Just hit M during the fly in to see for yourself.
I created a new world for him and started the game. Once I pressed the Start button, the screen went black except for the cursor and the word "Loading..." in the lower right quadrant. Then the screen dissolved to the initial spawn point for a game with the viking facing the center monolith and Hugn off slightly to the left.
No scrolling text about Odin, no gigantic raven with a viking in his claws flying over a world.
A new world is created during that initial screen, black except for the cursor and "Loading...".
magic moose's workaround is the method I would use. Karsul's suggestion should also work but I don't like the idea of permanently altering the program to gain a trivial advantage over the workaround.
