Onions
Not only did it take forever to actually find some, but I'm rather disappointed they only come with two recipes. I get that they need to be "between" turnips and barley in overall performance, and they were nice enough to give us both a 'health' dish and 'stamina' dish, but they still feel a little underwhelming and don't even get to take advantage of new recipes.

thanks for the heads up, i was just thinking about focusing on searching for them today but given this info I'll just wait till I stumble on them since they don't seem to be worth real effort to get. I've already managed to get Barley so the ROT wouldn't be there.

It wouldn't be bad if it was something you'd find abundantly along the way and had many applications. But they are too rare (in my opinion) to justify the schlep to get them, too scarce in recipes to bother farming tons at a time, and too middling in preformance to rely heavily on.

Compare to the humble raspberry which gets used in a lot of things and you're incentivised to hoard them not just for low tier food or Mead but also boar food.

Are you playing on old worlds? I'm on a new world, and I find them in most chests in the mountains.

Wolf Skewer isn't that bad though
u just had bad RNG. i found some on my starter island mountain. i love them.
onions great for the little work u put into it compare to the others.

the wolf skewer is top tier food IMHO. Its a little annoying to produce in bulk (choice of noisy wolf farm or annoying trip to mountains) but there is nothing at all wrong with that food.
Shame on you Sep 30, 2021 @ 3:00am
Onion soup has a extreme good Ressources -> Values outcome,
Bread is better, sure, but need more requirements, specially the Plains garden can be something many dont have

This is why onions are a good staple, better stats plus no biome restrictions.

Yes, other foods are obviously better, but that wasn’t the point.

Do you understand that higher tier foods have biome restrictions?

Food should give minor skill buffs on top of stam/HP while active, would make for less obsolete food and even more variety to choose from. Maybe add downsides as well if too OP.

eyescream uses hard to get glands that are better used in arrows. I am lucky to get 5-10 glands after trucking across an entire mountain range and culling the whole drake population.

Eyescreams dont even need a crop ingredient lol : 3 graydwarf eyes and 1 freeze glandule , that make it even better than onions , u dont waste day times to farm them
And about plains food , well its the top tier food , thats why the restrictions , that if one have a base/farm in the plains its not problem in that advanced part of the game

You only need one gland per eyescream though. And as far as arrows the only enemy worth exploiting frost weakness is bonemass, so make 160 arrows and the rest can go to food. Eyescream while riding atop your lox is a good day out :steamhappy:
