Antigravity copper deposit

As I usually do, I dug all around a copper deposit and then cut away all the mass under it. This usually causes the cap of ore to drop all at once. This one didn't fall. I beat on all the parts I could reach, and even managed to run and jump across the gap to top of it. Started mining op the top and it still won't fall . It's now broken into 5 seperate pieces and all are just hanging there.

Guess I get a hoe and raise ground to reach it from below and hope to finish it off.
