Weapon against Draugr?

I'm using Bow with flint arrows for ranged attack but what is better for melee, Ax or Mace?

I use a mace. I find it to be more versatile. And with any weapon, the more you use it the better you get. So don't split time between the two, pick one and go.

You should be using flame arrows by that point. I don't know about you, but I have enough resin to be throwing it away. Flint I have to go out of my way to get.

As far as I saw, slashing, piercing, and blunt all do the same vs the Draugr themselves, however blunt weapons are better against some other enemies in the swamp, like blobs and skeletons, so it's worth having a blunt weapon for those reasons. I primarily use an axe myself, and have a stagbreaker as a secondary weapon in the swamp so I can hit leeches easily.

Mace. better against most everything in swamp. Plus later you get Frostner, and Porcupine which are end game maces. Frostner is great because of spirit AND slowing, but I think the slow effect is not as strong as it used to be...

axes are too slow --- enemy get better at higher levels and you can't swing fast enough to prevent being hit. Mace ... many things are vulnerable to blunt weapons.

One or two jabs with an iron sword will take out anything in the swamp. Block-jab-done. They never get a hit in. I haven't found any need for anything but a good sword and bow, except for bonemass.

all Draugr variants are not specially weak to anything meaning Sword, Mace, Bow (Pierce) will all be about the same. They are Resistant to Fire and Immune to Poison

everything in the swamps is weak against Blunt damage ... the Mace is your best friend, be sure you also have a shield and Poison Resist Meads or it won't be a fun time.

Undead in general are weak against blunt and strong against pierce, so bows are going to be weaker, clubs are going to be stronger

the best way i find is mace and have a good shield for parrying. parrying is very key to survival in the swamp.

I'm curious what you would use a bow for in the swamps. You can fast walk past everything that's outside, possibly with the exception of the wraith, but that only comes out at night.

I've used a bow once or twice in the crypts, but that was just to take out another archer in the rooms with the body piles, but even that can be be worse than other solutions, since they keep spawning.

Shoot draugr archers?
Get stealth kills since Draugr have good hearing but terrible eyesight?
Kill leeches if you don't have a melee weapon that hits the ground?
Kill blobs so you don't have to get within poison range and/or they are in the water?
Shoot people from high vantage points before they get into melee?

Better question: Why -wouldn't- you use a bow in the swamps?

Draugr have a resistence to fire damage so fire arrows are a waste. Literally anything other than fire or poison will kill them, they don't have any weakness so you just wanna use your best weapon.

iron mace at full upgrade will help you the whole swamp and mountain biomes , others weapons than bows dont

I wouldn't because there's no need to, and the swamps is the last place I would choose to target practice. I have several bases in the swamps, and it's pretty depressing. I just get in and get out.

I haven't used anything but a sword, but it's easy enough to kill leaches with a sword without getting your toes wet. The almost walk on shore!
