how do you mine silver efficiently?

how do you spend the least amount of time mining for silver? silver is really heavy, even with the belt that makes you stronger and requires me to go up and down the mountain before my pickaxe breaks. going up the mountain is extremely tedious and slow and wanted to know if there is some better way of doing this

Place a temporary portal when you go to mine anything. You can pop back home to repair, renew your rested buff, and drop any stone you wanna keep or random drops from the enemies that attack. Just place a chest or cart to hold the metal.

build chests nearby and finish the vein before you leave, taking multiple trips.
bring 2-3 pickaxes.

Download the mod that allows ores through portals. Wow now the game is actually fun and not unnecessarily tedious.

Download the mod that allows ores through portals. Wow now the game is actually fun and not unnecessarily tedious.

why not just use the console and give yourself ore if your gonna cheat.

If you think there is no difference between going to find silver, beat the golem, mine it and then port to your base vs just spawning into your inventory you are being obtuse.
Trust me even with a portal taking the time to mine everything you need still take quite a while. And not all of are sitting in our moms basement with tons of free time. I am a single father and the point of gaming is for entertainment. If I find a game tedious for no real good reason, I am going to fix it.

why dont you fill a karve with silver, wear your best gear and take a tour halfway across the map. if you value your time so much, you will definitely feel it.

A nice trick I've found is that if you destroy all the earth around the vein the silver vein will collapse when you hit it a few times after making sure there is no earth touching it. Then its just transporting your stone and silver to a chest or cart. Me and my friends set up a longship at the tip of a mountain and load it full of silver and then launch it down one of the cliffs and it'll slide all the way to the bottom and into the ocean.

i was thinking about making a base near a swamp, then i got all the iron i needed, then i should build a house near a mountain, kinda sucks and want to avoid doing that. i mined all of my iron mostly because i think i just got lucky with the swamp dungeon spawns, they spawned not too far from a coastline from the swamp so i could fill the boat with iron, i am doing the same with silver, and its still pretty close, but it feels so far because of the steep incline.

and can you guys stfu about cheating and whatever i don't care if you cheat i do it aswell, but it is cliche at this point, i have seen countless forum posts here being filled with hate, and it goes nowhere and i don't care. thanks

always have portals. Back home to repair takes seconds, and you can rest up again and drop off all the rocks and wolf parts and such that you picked up during your adventure. When its all said and done, grab all the ore and waddle down the mountain. Drop it, stamina comes back, pick it back up... you can go a long long way on full stam food doing this, and get it to your boat. The game does not distinguish between 1 pound over the limit and 100000 pounds over the limit.. :)
for the boat, if you got more than it will hold, bust a cart and kick the little boxes onboard.
sliding does not count against stamina. There is an art to sliding down a mountain for 'free' when under a heavy load.

Make a second seed. Fill all your inventory slots with silver. Log out of your main seed and into your second seed. Throw all the silver on the ground. Log out and back into your main seed. Teleport back to your base. Log out and back into your second seed. Pick up all the silver. Log out and back into your main seed. You have now transported all your silver to your base in about 2-3 minutes instead of all that messing about.
