12 wood for walls and roof.
10 for bed. 2 wood 5 stone for fire. Sorted.
If it's raining, 4 more wood for a post and roof piece to cover the fire.
That's 4 trees to chop down and 5 stones to find.
(no clue if anyone will see this late addition, but we can find small and very short lean-to shelters without beds in the meadows, so I guess it's not too far-fetched to sleep without a bed in Valheim)
i dislike the rain, you can't do anything about getting wet. I know it doesn't rain for very long but having your stamina/health regen slower when wet is irritating, especially walking through the water in the swamps.
My opinion, bad Idea to be walking through the swamp waters. I build a pathway with my hoe and the only time I get in water is collecting cores from my core farming spots.
That's good to know, and I'll keep that in mind, but the timeskip was the part I specifically wanted in this case. Good to know that I can still get the other benefits without building a small base, though.
I completely agree, i'm just too lazy to make a pathway in every swamp i want to explore. It also rains a lot there too.
If it helps
Back last year I took this screenshot of my small camp, sorry its a bit dark but it was just for me so this camp is quick to make consists of 2 wood wall halves at the back on ground with 1 each side.
Then for the sides add a wood wall 45 degrees to each side. Slants the roof.
Add 2 thatched roof 45 degrees to the 2 wood walls halves and 2 thatched at 26 degrees in front of them.
plus one 45 degrees placed against the main roof but over camp fire to stop rain.
Fits a bed if needed for spawn point or sleep and of course the workbench just outside.

so I quickly made another now you can see how little materials is needed.

cheers
WHo build the smalles and cheapest outpost with a usable bed that can be build in every biome (yes except ocean)
My recipe of the hut
4 wood wall halves.
2 wood walls 45 degrees
3 thatched roof 45 degrees
2 thatched at 26 degrees
campfire plus bed if needed
That's an interesting idea! Although i usually make an closed shack (2x3x1,5) so mobs dont come attacking me, because if i'm out of their sight, they give up. Although rather big, has enough room for the workbench, bed, some chests, fire and a portal or forge. It aint cheap but aside from forge or portal materials, i can find wood and rocks everywhere to make it.
