Finding Sample Requests

Hi, when i try to find the sample requests that i see on the map in the base i get hopelessly lost. Is there a map function that i can access when on a dive? Am i missing something?

It's not possible to access the map outside the base -- what I do is to remember the general direction to the sample request area and simply scrutinize everything in that direction.

As a last resort, I think you can screenshot the dive map and have it open when you're lost.

Late to the party - i have a question on sample requests, do they still appear in the map once you've collected it?
I.e. i've gone to a couple of those areas and retrieved previously inaccessible samples, still when i get back to the base and the map, you can still select the "sample request" mark with its details. Does it mean i've missed something? In some cases the sample, when analyzed, does not return details on the species; maybe that's why, i need to somehow find out about the taxonomy first?

That's correct - you need to locate and scan one of the organisms in question (or possibly just encounter it and get dialogue from EV, not sure) which creates the taxonomy entry, for those samples to be analyzed. Once analyzed, the sample request marks on the map will disappear.
