finding job cards

I'm a new trader and want to change jobs but I don't have the endorsement card. For the life of me I can't find any specific instructions on how to do it that aren't out of date (e.g.being told to go to my home port school). From chat, I was told to go back to Sagres and do Maritime quests. I did the 3 basic ones but when I tried harder ones without any battle skills, my ship was destroyed.

Can someone please explain in detail how to get a job card? Eventually I'd like all 3, if possible.Thanks

2 options:

1) The Sagres quest givers randomly give out missions to get job endorsement cards. If they don’t currently have it, run one of the easier missions from any giver and come back and check again (or use quest mediation permits to reset current quests offered)

2) if you have the survey skill, you can rescue npc seafarers, which give you a letter of appreciation. The letters can be used on OTHER named npcs to get job endorsements.
