Uncharted Waters Online - Steam

a honest review for new peoples
Henlo ,Super Mew Kitty here!played since Netmarbles
some things about the game
also hello to Sergio0002,spiderwebs and Shiza :),thanathos the hobbo,Lujurious(or ludicrous or something like that) the loli girl pirate and others i ve meet

i do like UWO,i do like it lots,i did enjoy a lot of the game,i had fun and meet nice peoples but i would not recomend it for all this:

1)GRIND korean level of grind, now its a bit faster and you can finish school in 1 single place(before it forced you to sail around all Mediterranean)
grind for skills for measless 1 xp,and skills need like 1000(and grows exponencially) to level
grind for profession skill ,grind for job skill, grind for skill exp, grind for ship skill exp, grind grind grind and grind some more till your hands bleed,or afk and watch netflix while your alts grind too(explained below)
2) Shipbuilding is faster, now rank 1 can build most ships, cost money to,and after level 4 it becomes SUPER TEDIOUS AND MORE GRINDY,also you need to pay like 25 mil duCATS to get the order to modify the ship with special stuff and add ship skills
3)Order of prince added a thing that pirates can infinitely attack you (before there was a 30 min timer or so that prevent same player to attack you) now to get that you need to use CASH SHOP to buy the flag
4)CASH SHOP not pay to win,but puts you in heavy dis advantage, and to grind duCATS to get the same stuffs its TEDIOUS AND GRINDY (again?)people ask for billion ducats,in japan server it cost 6 times less but its because they get shipuild materials free, here you have to pay for those too
5)wolrd chat is bad,terribad
6)outside Mediterranean and North sea all is open pvp areas, get a fleet with powerfull cash shop peoples or prepare to suffer
7) peoples use like 3 different accounts to get alts,to get all skills of production,so for every 1 player online there are like 3 alts or so that follow ,so game has low population(some can get up to 5 or 6 using illegal stuff) and papayo doesn't cares
8)again,grindy,becomes more a chore than fun
9) sometimes quests get confussing(and grindy and tedious i ll repeat this a lot) and you have to check on wiki or olous or ivyro(official guide sites) to finish even stupid tasks for like 200 misserable exp and a fist full of duCATS(and after level 30 you need like 15 000 exp to level)
10) lots of alts selling stuff at ridiculous prices ,mostly in Sevilles and London
11) VENICE IS EMPTY AND ITS NOT NICE TO TRAVEL AGAINST WIND TO GET UP THERE,also not much people plays venetions
12) the GMS give advantage to cash shop players in events, happend to me in trivia event, halloween event, nickname lottery event, vikings event, chase the gm even,gm auction event etcs, while honest free players try to get stuff they favor the high level players that buy stuff, they dont care about low level and free players

my opinion?play if you have free time, the game asthetics and atmosfere are good, you can carefully explore and do stuff alone (i made lvl 37/72/40 alonw, sometimes i helped others)or join a company
but the game has so many flaws and gets boring and SLOOOOOWW after level 30
and you would die before you can max Alchemist job, believe me alchemist is the most ungratefull grindy money consuming BORING grindy, annoying job in game ever

"i do like UWO,i do like it lots,i did enjoy a lot of the game,i had fun and meet nice peoples "

BTW, What was your name ingame?

Since NetMarble (2010) and you only reached 37/72/40??? That tells me you did not do much Adventure and definitely not much Maritime, either. While being a Merchant does make you more in-game money, you barely touched the surface of this game.

This game is not a race, you set goals, take your time, you enjoy your progress, the fun and friendships. Everyone plays at their own pace.

"now to get that you need to use CASH SHOP to buy the flag"...

--- You can easily make your own tributes in game

--- I started in Gpotato/Netmarble days late 2011. When GAMA server closed my levels were 85/85/85. Since Maris server opened, with all the server buffs, North America Railroad monthly buff events, as well as the current server buffs that ends Jan 23, I am level 81/55/77. And I hate grinding anything.

Also, Comment from GM

"Thank you all for your feedback about "[PvP Trial Period] Unlimited Battles on Seas!"

As you all may have noticed, we had temporarily removed the time period restriction in which Normal Characters (White-name) cannot be attacked by the same Wanted/Pirate Character (Red/Orange-name) as a trial run to gauge player interest for the implementation of this change.

After examining the various feedback that we have received, we have decided to implement the time restriction once again, except this time, as opposed to having the time restriction be 1 hour (as it was originally), the new time restriction will be 30 minutes!

We hope that with this change, players are able enjoy more balanced and fun sea battles.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Team Uncharted Waters"

etc

etc

This game is not for everyone, I happen to love History, so it fits me to a tee.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy whatever game(s) you are playing.

LOL, hatefulpeace thanks for the chuckles...just about spit my coffee all over the screen laughing!

Your comment, for a moment seemed reasonable, them you went into lala land, hence me losing some of my covfefe.

BTW, if you do not play, why are you and Cagan (me thinks, one in the same) still trolling these threads? I mean what is your real purpose here?

Why not go spend your time playing something you do like instead?

i forget to add the melee battles controls are clunky and laggy

I dono where you get the chat is bad, I mean what is your comparison? It is heven compared to heroes of the storm chat. My questions got anwsered instantly, and they were nice about it. The community here obviously is one of the tightest, considering there was a total reset and people still play it, you need a strong community for that to work out. The only time I have seen them get upity and bad, is if you start spaming the chat with THIS GAME SUCKS, P2W Garbage, blah blah blah incert your own butt hurt message.

I cannot say anything about the GMS I have never had any dealings with them but unless you have proof, you saying they are all inleague of paying players is just utter nonsense and ruins your total post.

You will just have to get over pay 2 win, if you like MMORPGS, because all of them are. This one is up there, but actually it is less pay 2 win than say eve online. You could start eve online with max everything skills, ships, in game money, ect, in this you may be able to get all ingame things with cash, but you are still going to have to grind skills. I suppose you could say I do win for paying lol, cause I 100 percent plan on buying 30 days of no combat every month, and that makes me win agasint pirates, cause I think pirating in this game is beyond stupid and downsyndromeish. Not realistic at all, I mean you have to be flithy rich and powerful to even start as a pirate. Which honstly just makes it a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ way to force people to pvp, because the pirates dont need money, they are all rich.

They could make this game top end if they wanted by just making pvp a battle arena, with a que timer, and stat equalization. Then though you would baby butt the pirates who just play this game to grief people who dont want to pvp, they are really sick werid people if you ever meet one. Thankfully though they give you the option to totally ignore these sick people. The no war pact, think of it like a vaccine agasint polio. It vacinates you agasint the sicko pirates whos only mission is to try and get you to be butt hurt over losign imagine items in a game.

No amount of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, butt hurt whining, negitive reviews, or anything is ever going to change this game from its whale farming gambling money making scheme. You just have to not compete with the gambling junkies and ignore them simple as that.

-*pirateing became bad with order of Prince thingy i stoped playing after the patch applied
-*Merchant chat is nice ,world chat the general one is not :)
-*pvp in this game is just painfull and not fun at all, only the sea feud thing and the others ones(i forget the names) were fun where nations fight against each others
-*again who would save like 2 billion ducats for stuff?and the prices get over inflated ,its not worse than Netmarbles where they protected goldsellers
-*i wasnt in any company i mostly solo all my levels with hard work, again it was fun and i had friends to fleet with. then it became ugly and boring and i lack the patience to grind to higher levels than those i had before i left and finish the imperial quest things
-*they also removed the firstmates from school chat,so most people there is clueless
the new people just can finish school then either do quest in mediterranean or grind Syracuse dungeon till they get at par with other players, and thats a big dis advantage,i had crafting and my shady methods to make moneys :3 but new people lacks that knowledge so they re confined to that, they cant afford a new ship
-* melee combat is super ugly, your char would run around trying to align itself properly to attack the enemy,in that time the enemy can strike you like 4 times
game gets really pw2 and pirates are the most trollish like walk plank ,killadub and the other monkeys around
You seem to forget one very very important fact...this game is based on the Age of Discovery. Perhaps a small lesson in history will do the trick.

I like this game because it is as close to what actually happened during that time in history as any game out there. Even during that Era there were the Haves and Have Nots and pirates stealing and capturing merchant ships.

For fun, read the story I wrote about a pirate player in the artwork section. Tons of fun outsmarting each other.

The game is a GREAT challenge, which is what makes it BRILLIANT!

Perhaps the devs could have used a little history refresher on when the Panama and Suez canals came into being.
@hughroberts749 ... LOL, yes we know, it is not perfect, it was opened in game for convenience.

The Canal officially opened on August 15, 1914 and the Suez in officially opened on November 17, 1869
I stopped installing when I read game is mosltly open world pvp, thanks a lot

You heard? All of EU is non pvp, and every 7 days there are seas that are designated non PVP. If you are lucky, you MIGHT bump into a pirate patrolling some areas, if you do a search at sea you can see them, so change your course to another adjoining sea. Set your status to private so they can see you on search. Pirates cannot set to private.

If you could not avoid them, make some tributes and only carry 2 mil on you (half goes to the pirate). Pay them off and be on your way.

Normal players do not attack you.
Naposledy upravil WalkerDePlank; 12. úno. 2019 v 14.55
dont listen to walker de plank and killadub they are pirate and troll
Pardon me, I am an Adventurer...never been a pirate except for an accidental small stint of a moment during 2012.

not everyone anti-social like you, walker... status to private means 2 thing... 1 is anti-social, and 2 well, you're multiboxer
LOL, How about I do not want pirates to find me when I am in high risk seas?

Avoiding pirates is possible, but not quite as simple as described above. Many pirates use "spotter" characters to monitor several likely trade routes at once and some don't even log in their main character until one of the spotters identifies a target. That means they don't show up in searches. Personally I don't like being pirated or the idea of appeasing them with tributes so i use the 24 hour cash shop blue flags and accomplish what I need to in dangerous waters during the period of immunity.
