= ingame Vsync OFF and in GPU Driver Vsync ON = Have fun with 144 fps glory without tearing :)
Cheers,
Ash
Thats what i did.
I just hate having to open the menu haha
With my gpu, it would generate way too much frames for no reason haha
Not to my refresh rate via the game.
anyways vsync lowers your frames thus causing tearing. turn vsync off and you now have 150fps so no chance of tearing. your screen tears because your PC not strong enough handle frames. this is why console invented vsync to limit crapy hardware to 30 fps. but if you unlock fps like the playstation 2 then you don't have tearing issues. lol it's a paradox do you know what that means?
no vsync was invented so there arent tears, 150 fps will still cause screen tearing on a 144 hz display cause the fps does not match the Hertz of the display
also a proper vsync implementation should be the bare minimum since decades but it simply doesnt work in this game to begin with. it doesnt even "limit" the fps.
that doesnt make any sense, yes the monitor cant display more FPS than its refresh rate but there will be always be screen tearing if the FPS is not equal or multiple times the refresh rate, for example for a 60hz monitor it needs to be at 60 or 120 FPS.
maybe in some games it's less noticable with higher FPS but it's still there trust me.
there are so many threads online about this. thats just how FPS and Hertz work for PCs.
or how would you explain that a monitor can display 150 frames per second if the PC forces it to the monitor and it only can display 144?
what about the remaining 6 frames?
if it's displayed in the FPS counter, the monitor will get it.

Even if you have 144 fps with a limited on 144 hz, you CAN have screen tearing. The Monitor refresh CAN happen between 2 frames from the GPU, the Tear will be at the same position then.
So in short: When not using any sync technology (V-Sync, Fast Sync, G-Sync) you WILL get tearing. The other questions are: Do you notice it, is the Game engine sensible for that, etc etc.
If you game at 110-130 fps on a 144 Hz monitor, and you don't notice any tearing, then you don't have any problem. Simple as that ^^"
I like how this guy put it. There's always tearing it's just whether it's noticeable or not. Thus we are both arguing the wrong thing.
I don't care at all about tearing, I only care if I notice it. I think the main argument is forcing Vysnc robs PC power thus making the game run in even lower frames which make the tearing more noticeable.
Minecraft runs at like 500fps but my monitor only 144hz with no vsync and you don't notice any tearing even though it's tearing.
So graphics, engine and tech are more important than worthless sync option. That's why I brought up the PS2. Those old TV's were like 30hz but the ps2 games ran at over 100fps with no sync and no noticeable tearing. Idk
