How to rip off clothes in battle?

I know it's possible, but it was never occured in my case. I've tried to just recieve damage without attacking anyone and it didn't work. How I can do it?

To tear them off partially you just need to be aggressive and continuously attack. Or just use regular Secret Ninja Arts.

To get the final clothes break (where the rays of light appear), the easiest way is to use the Burst Mode finisher when the enemy is at low health. A special animation will play and they'll be fully stripped. You can also use an Ultimate Secret Ninja Art (the one that uses L1+O/B depending on what controller you use). Also needs to be the final attack that you land.
