Missing Controls on HP Reverb G2
Hi everyone, I know that the game doesn't state to be supporting windows mixed reality on it's steam store page, but I'd like to ask anyways:

Is there a way to make it work with the HP Reverb G2? It seems to run almost perfectly, except for the fact that the G2's controllers don't have any trackpads (as the HT Vive does).
This makes it impossible to drag any object towards you, although picking things up works perfectly by pressing any of the top side buttons besides the thumbstick.
I already tried to fumble around int the SteamVR controller editor, but without any luck.

TLDR: How to make the G2's thumbstick behave like/emulate the HTV Vive's trackpad?

Thank you very much for your efforts in helping me.

Looking for the same answer. I tried mapping the joystick to trackpads but it didn't work,

The answer is that you can't, I've spent hours mucking around with SteamVR Controller Bindings trying to emulate the kind of "swipe action" that VVR expects. You can get almost pretty close - but it doesn't work reliably at all. The developers (TenderClaws) have responded to me on twitter saying that they're releasing an update for "quest and oculus" controllers - but I'm not sure if that's going to fix our WMR controller issues. Make sure to @ them on social media to see if you have better luck than me, since Mitch, the developer who used to read the steam community discussions for this game, no longer works at TenderClaws.

Same thing happened to me on the G2. I got a whopping 45 minutes of game time before it's literally unplayable. Can't get a refund because I've owned it longer than 2 weeks.

Still waiting on an update or fix for this issue.

I know this is little consolation...
But the game won't be getting a WMR update because it didn't need it.
All WMR headsets up till the HP G2 HAVE touchpads...so the game ran flawlessly on WMR.
It's HP following Oculus goofball no touchpad thing that is screwing you up.
SO...hopefully the Oculus update will fix your issues.

Speaking as someone who wen't from Odyssey + to Quest 1...the controls on Quest blow...
BUT I am able to drag things towards and away by pushing up/down on the analog stick.
So I'm not sure what that says about any update.

I figured out a solution!

On the top left on SteamVR widget on your desktop there is a little menu icon made of 3 horizontal lines, click and go to Settings -> Controllers -> Manage Controller Bindings.

Up there, select your game "Virtual Virtual Reality", switch to Custom, and click Edit This Binding.

On the left, scroll to find Joystick Tab, click on the + on its top right and select "Joystick".
In the added binding, set Click to "Left Trackpad/Thumbstick Touch", and Position to "Left Trackpad/Thumbstick Value"

Then do the same for the right controller and save.

Now you can move the objects closer/further by clicking the joystick and pulling it down/up!

EDIT: so the new sucking controls don't work too well with this binding it's possible, but very impractical and hard to progress in the game, hopefuly I or somebody else could figure out a better binding to make it work.

EDIT2: You should also add an analog binding to B and Y buttons. And set Y=1 and X=0. that way you can spit out TB with those buttons. The game is now kinda playable with those bindings.

I've apparently found the same rabbit hole as you guys. It seems it's pretty playable up to the point where you have to do the swipe to go to vacuum mode. Seems no way to emulate that. :/
