Is there some secret on the units that can use this item that is not shown on the unit roaster list or why can you enchant the item with ammo replenshment and develop the unit with multistrikes if it only has a melee attack?

I don't think that titans or elder titans get any kind of ranged attack as an upgrade option. It is probably an oversight in the crafting system (which has some rough edges).

I think it used to be an available learnable attack (as you'll notice Titans have access to multishot), but seems to have gotten removed, even though the weapon still exists.
