I frequently play offline. I can start and play the game offline. And I can start Steam and the game while being connected to the Internet, then play offline. No issues whatsoever.
Because I doubt they could afford to have a WebServer to be used for online play.
i have tried everything suggested before including wiping and dling whole game it is something coded into it. no i am not playing beta and never even had beta on my machine. this is a problem i have had since it came out, over 2 separate laptops with different specs. it is 100% tied to not being online and getting the daily steam update checks.
Thanks guys for the responds. Great comunity here :)
since its clear this has such a DRM and can NOT be played offline due to such DRM im quite upset that the dev has not only neglected to address it here on the forums , but has left the fact you can not play it offline go unknown even on the store page.... there are quite a few games with DRM that requires you to be online either constantly or every so often, and all those i have seen state such in the store page!
I agree. This game is best suited for mature players already familiar with the genre, so it's more likely to attract people who can pay $30 for their next 300-500 hours of enjoyment.
clearly it is intentional since you really CANT just accidentally include DRM in a game that has NO online functionality etc, as someone who has both modded AND coded games.... its legit not possible to make a game and accidentally include DRM....
furthermore this is not a new issue ... there has been more then enough threads and time to ENSURE the dev knows about this .... so considering everything its CLEAR the dev is deceiving not only paying customers , but potential customers and STEAM themselves
just because a DRM lets you play for a few hours to a day at max offline... its still a DRM that prevents offline play and as such NEEDS to be something that the steam page CLEARLY states
