Question: Special Resource Occurance
Does someone know about the chances? In the gorgeous resource mod for example you could find orb mostly in the mountain due to their 20-40% prospecting chance. Since this mod got implemented, it is much less. Haven't found orb so far in mountains. That's why a List of terrain & chance would be great!

Any information on that?

Hi Cap,

Tlaloc posted some values in the modding subforum, but not sure if these are before the mod was integrated...

It's a little tricky to read, but might set you on the right path.

A little of a search but at the end at page 4 it is. Making a table helps. So yeah, the chance has been drastically reduced. Tundra and Prairie are good tiles to find rare resources.

In my mod did not limit the minerals that appear in prospecting. After the Mod was integrated into the game, when prospecting on mountains and hills, the minerals that appear were limited to real minerals(maybe). The purpose of this change will be to increase the incidence of mythril and adamantite. However, the actual incidence has not increased. So I don't think it is working effectively. In other words, you may be bored to find iron iron iron ... in the mountains and hills.

I would like to suggest Tlaloc to revert to the original specs or to increase the actual appearance rate of mythril and adamantite.

I agree MiyabiSFG. The current mineral situation is nowhere near as much fun as your mod! I hope you are successful in getting the developers to go back to the original specs. If not, perhaps you could do a new mod that would fix things.

I was hoping it was just me and I was getting unlucky rolls. Either revert to old odds or buff non mountainous terrain to similar prospecting %.

I get your point. I had a lot of fun too with those rules. I would like to have 2 rule settings, a serious one and one to fool around. Right now, it is a serious one except for fish, those are totally out of control. No research for nets and easily 9000 food per worker...I find it to be more balanced than before.

And the rule set to fool around would be more or less fish as they are right now and full commitment to Myabi opulence. I can't find those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ orbs. Now I change my strat to go for piety, after 300 turns, now that the AI is fully developed. Well, lets call it a challenge then.
In Myabis rule set, I found orbs more often than iron in mountains. It was easy to obtain mana ;)

The balance seems off -- I ended up modding the frequencies myself to give a mix I like, but most people aren't going to want to bother doing that.

I might do that as well. It is a monotone as it is right now.

When you start a new game there is a slider at bottom " Bonus resource frequency" move that up to 1000.

Doesn't that just increase the general chance of resources? So EVEN MORE IRON. xD

I saw more mana orbs and other resources increase as well. But yes there could be even more iron also

As far as I know and saw, yes. That's why I ended up modding the frequencies (Tlaloc shows how in the terrain mod thread).

I saw your post yesterday yes. That was so complicated, I got a headache. As far, as I understand, the models changed over time.
So is this correct?

I would increase the rare ones, so you have guaranteed more than 1 of them in every game - because what use is a resource that does not occur in your games? - and upload it as a mini mod.
Captain Tofu Aug 8, 2019 @ 12:48am
As I see now in the txt of the mineral mod:
weighted_chance_occurs7=5
for beer, canola Flower and some others. Model 7 is empty I thought?

As soon, as I figure this out, I am going to post this into the modders thread there.
Captain Tofu Aug 8, 2019 @ 1:28am
And what are these then? Different Models - Jungle belongs to forest instead of being it's own model. Tundra is mine as well.
