this is definitely one of the coolest games you can buy and play on steam ,
but reviewers whined and trashed it for 'bugs' when many people didn't even experience those said 'bugs' etc.
They totally overlooked the cool game design (I love the fact it Doesn't have all that ridiculous platforming etc nowadays, that are stuck into every game type including 'hack and slash' and fighting),
how nicely done everything is and it's just great to have a third person fighting game.
Gamers are buying all kinds of 2d 'indie' trash for almost the same price as this and acting like they're rescuing dogs by paying 20+ dollars for something that looks like a 5 year old whipped up,
then they get all hard-core on their reviews with a game like this and trash it completely while not realizing how cool a game it is.
Also it sounds like you would really like (or love) Dungeons and Dragons Dark Alliance, the modern '3D' game that came out a few years ago,
same deal great game got trashed because of a few stupid issues (mainly people mostly picked 'Cattie-Brie' and expected to play her like a machine-gunner in a third-person shooter),
Gangs of Sherwood obviously uses the Dungeons and Dragons engine (and many of the same art and design team by the looks of it),
D+D Dark Alliance has probably the best art I ever seen in a game, has an extremely good hard challenge factor (which is impossible to find in today's dumbed down game selection),
Has tons of awesome things going for it, but again people trashed a few things about it (which mostly comes down to players expecting to play it as an 'fps' even though it was supposed to be a hack+slasher),
and that destroyed the reviews on steam etc.
That game had huge potential and could've been on their 10th DLC by now.
Gamers have lost the plot nowadays and unfortunately Idiocracy is in full effect and you see it by these hidden gems being 'lost' on steam
Check out Kiborg for one of the few modern ones
if it doesn't control exactly the same as modern Triple A ♥♥♥♥, it's considered "bad controls". blegh. i wish these people would just be content to let games exist instead of spiting them for not being EXACTLY what these players want. you are NOT the audience, quit complaining and go home.
