The amount of players you can have in a multiplayer game depends on the map and game mode. I think the game is worth it, but many people have their own thoughts. If you are looking for a youtube series to give you the ropes, the youtuber JD has a good tutorial series on Nebulous Fleet Command.
Nebulous is a great game that I would highly recommend you buy, especially since new content (carriers) is coming soon™️.
Peer-Peer games are limited to 10 players though just as a netcode thing, servers can take more.
If you really want singleplayer content, then wishlist and keep an eye on it, or use the follow feature but I really dont know how that works since I've not needed it. The games not got much in terms of singleplayer even if you can do Vs. AI skirmishes. Planned to change so its just a wait and see situation
This game's community is full of time-wasters, who act like everyone has all damn day to sit in this game.
Here are a few things that will get on your nerve once you start noticing them:
1. People build fleets in lobbies. This would be fine if the lobby does not have enough players for a match, but more often than not, you will have 2 full teams and a third of the players are f**king around in the editor, not readying up.
2. Lobbies fill up with spectators, making a server appear full, when there's a team without a player. Often these spectators are in either team and then decide to spectate, further extending the wait time for a match.
3. It takes forever to form a 4v4 lobby, and as soon as it fills up, some guy hops in and asks for 5v5 so he can play... The lobby votes a 5v5 map and then nobody joins for another half hour, and all of the above repeats itself.
People in this game have no respect for anyone's time, and f**s around like a kid on summer vacation.
I just uninstalled the game after 480h, because I am sick to death of waiting for these pricks to form a damn game. At least half these hours I've spent in editor, or waiting in lobbies, so think on that before buying.
"The game has a small community" is no excuse for this nonsense. Since it does, people who have white ranks, or higher, should know better by now than to f**k around all day and make everyone wait ages for a lobby. Either play the game or go chit chat in Skype!
Unfortunatly devs gave up on other singleplayer content and decided to go the "competitive multiplayer" route so many early acces fall in and die because no one cares to play indie games with some (ie. handfull) die hard fans.
Last time I played/messed with the game... Sept 2023.
Im waiting for the offline single player content.
"all-time peak 17 hours ago"
If that's your metric, then the game has been dead since release
