Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - Beta Backer Demo

21:9 - aka Ultrawide Support (Specifically 3440x1440)
Greetings, friends!

I fired up the game demo today to discover there is not support for 21:9/ultrawide resolutions in the demo, which is not surprising as it often is left out of games. However, the demo is currently stretching my game screen when I choose any resolution (I even tried 2560x1440), instead of pillarboxing the screen. Is this going to be fixed in the release of the game (either pillarboxing or actually supporting ultrawide aspect ratios)? Currently I have to run it in Window mode, which then shows the rest of my desktop and is not ideal. I don't recall the original demo doing that, but it was a long time ago, so it is possible I have forgotten...

I will post more feedback after playing the demo, but wanted to get this posted right away.

Thanks!

If you go windowed and then drag the window to the top to maximize it it works a bit. There are black bars on the sides, but the gui will move to the corners

Thanks, I tried that and it is glitchy and eventually it crashed for me. I guess I will keep it in windowed mode unmaximized for now...

wanted to chime in and say I had this issue as well. I don't need native 21:9 support, but pillarboxing so I can run the game fullscreen without it distorting would be great.

See if there's a scaling option in your video card drivers. I have an NVIDIA card, and the NVIDIA Control Panel provides three scaling options - full screen (stretches image to fill entire screen), aspect ratio (maintains the aspect ratio of the image when stretching, filling the remaining screen area with black space), and no scaling (doesn't stretch the image at all, leaving a black border around the image if it's smaller than the native resolution).

So I updated my Nvidia drivers, which surprisingly needed a reboot and after changing a setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel, now the game works as expected. I had to check the box for Override the scaling mode set by games and programs in the NVIDIA Control Panel, and now I have black bars. If they will not implement 21:9 aspect rations, I would ask they at least don't stretch the presentation in the game.

Thanks to all that offered assistance!

EDIT: Words are hard.

They don't... change the settings in your gpu drivers or ON YOUR MONITOR...

If only that were true. I don't have this problem with other games, otherwise I would not have suggested that.

I agree with this, was kind of upset that it stretched the resolution and warped the bodies of most characters.

Same here. I run 32:9 and it simply stretches the 1920 image. Hope to get official support.
Changing settings didn't help for me, also the demo shoved EVERYTHING from my first and third monitor off to an imaginary fourth monitor.

Edit: Got it to work, ish.
