Resolution problems
I have a native 4K monitor and the game refuses to change the resolution to anything else than 4K if you want fullscreen. Lowering the resolution just gives me a shrinked version of the game in the upper left corner of the screen like a borderless window. My PC can't handle 4K so is there any way to lower the resolution but still be fullscreen?

A workaround might be to change the resolution in windows settings

That's the thing - the game freaks out when you try to change the resolution to something that isn't native. Even when trying to lower the resolution through windows and then starting the game, it still changes the resolution back and gets displayed only in a small portion of the screen as if nothing happened. It ignores my settings.

Ok, so I figured out that the game seems to have a problem specific with changing DPI values. If I try running the game at 1080p on a 2160p monitor it gets displayed in a reduced size and not fullscreen. This even happens when I'm lowering the resolution in windows. However, if I restard the computer after changing the resolution in Windows so the DPI changes correctly, the game can be displayed in 1080p fullscreen. So it doesn't like changing the resolution without giving the entire system the chance to update the DPI settings by restarting. Weird and annoying but managable. Would be nice to get this fixed nonetheless. Also - why does the game has to restart to apply a change in resolution? Something in there seriously doesn't know how to handle this departement.

I had the same problem with the original/first game "Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered".

It's a bug in the game, where the game doesn't ignore the Windows DPI scaling % setting (I tried with Windows 10).

e.g. I have Windows desktop at 2160p (4K) with 225% DPI scaling, and then I tried to run the game at 1080p fullscreen (to run faster than at 4K), but the Windows desktop 225% scaling setting was STILL applied (NOT ignored) for the fullscreen game, and so only the top-left corner of the game showed-up.

Partial (not ideal) solution = run the game at the same res as Windows desktop (e.g. 4K in my case).

All the best

Update:

Here is a proper fix -> For the game exe, turn on "High DPI scaling override".

See screenshot here regarding how to do that: https://imgur.com/yntiDET
