When does "Burial at Sea" DLC take place, as story?
1. before the events of BioShock Infinite (= prequel) ???

2. after the events of BioShock Infinite (= sequel) ???

3. Or is it an alternate/separate story of BioShock Infinite (= non-canon story) ???

Thank you in advance.

> BioShock 1 takes place in the 1950s; BioShock 2 takes place in the 1960s; and Infinite in 1912. So I guess Booker & Elizebeth are either travelling through time, in the future, without aging, or they are in an alternate universe (= the story in this up-coming DLC is an alternate/separate one --- non-canon to the Infinite's story) :-\ However, I am not so sure, because the devs said in a recent interview for IGN that Elizabeth knows what happened before (from BS Infinite story) So could it be a sequel? Or what?! :-\ I'm confused. Also, I spent only almost an hour of playing BioShock Infinite, because now I'm abroad, on a s**tty laptop. So please, NO SPOILERS of the main storyline.

It'll definitely be canon. Levine wouldn't be writing a "love letter to the fans" if it wasn't canon. As for when it takes place, it's probably after the events of Infinite considering that Levine mentions something about Liz and Booker still being who they were.

They will be taking place before and leading up to the fall of Rapture and also some will take place before Jack Ryan even gets there whilst it's crumbling to set the scene for BioShock 1.

True, but if this Liz and Booker are the same as the ones we knew, then they're living within their own timeline that spans across many different universes. Confusing, I know.

True as I watched the trailer for it and Booker DeWitt said who are you and Elizabeth replied with her name so it looks like they don't know each other so this must be an alternate universe Rapture is set in as if the Booker we heard knew the Elizabeth we saw that line would not have been said.

That scene needed more context. It is very possible that they might just be putting on a show for some shady characters. The entire interaction might not be genuine.

An additional question:

In which year does the story in BioShock 1 take place? But for BioShock 2? And for Infinite too. Thank you in advance.

^ I haven't played any of the original BioShock titles, that's why I'm asking this. I will play them when I come home --- in a few weeks. I thought that Infinite's story takes place after the ones from BioShock 1 & 2 :-\ Is it vice-versa/opposite from what I thought?

BioShock 1 Takes place in the1950's then BioShock 2 Takes place 10 years later which would mean in the 1960's we all know BioShock Infinite takes place in 1912 but a clue to the year of BioShock 1's year is in the beginning of the Burial at Sea Trailer which Booker DeWitt has a roller calender on his desk saying 1958 December 31st so it takes place at new year so BioShock 1 must take place in 1959 but I am not 100% sure about the exact date of 1 and 2.

Infinite does not take place before or after Bioshock one. They exist in different universes.

Just watch the Family Guy Episode called Road to the Multiverse and you will get the jist of the BioShock Infinite Style of you could exist in two Multiple Universes and be whole lot different.

Also The Multiverse theory is real to life as well but without Tears or stuff to figure it out as I could be typing at this keyboard on a forum like this but someone who looks like me and does the same stuff as me could be doing something else like playing BasketBall.

It will be canon . . . how many times have we said that already. That is unless you don't know what canon means. In that case, look it up.

The new DLC will take place during the time when Rapture was in its prime, before the downfall. Bioshock 1 takes place in 1959. I'm guessing Buried at Sea will take place in 1958 or maybe even a couple years prior. As for the question of if it is the same Rapture that we play in Bioshock 1 or is it an alternate universe?
I'm sure that will be discovered apon playing the DLC and hopefully it will be rewarding, fun, and fulfilling. :cage:

in the trailer you see a callender on booker's desk. the date is 1958 december 31, the night of raptures downfall. in a more recent video about elizabeth in burial at sea we get to hear it takes place after the events of bioshock infinite.:devilskiss::bird::cage:

EDIT: here is the link for the recent video about elizabeth in burial at sea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2dMcrzk6iA

I know what canon means.

I don't understand HOW Booker and Elizabeth will be the same - young -, because between 1912 and 1958 it's such a loooong time. How don't they get old?! Explain this to me!
