DLC - Booker is Delta
What do you think about this theory? We don't know much about Delta from Bioshock 2. If Burial at Sea takes pleace before events of original Bioshock, this would be best theory.

Delta was a guy named johnny topside a deep diver investigator who accidently found out rapture in his explorations under the sea, he was captured and turned into delta (andrew ryan thought he was some spy). This is in bioshock 2 audiologs. So I think not, check out bio 2 wiki on subject delta its well explained there

Ken Levine was not involved with Bioshock 2 and he didn't feel like it was a right project. So I doubt he'd make it canon.

He didn't feel like it was a right project? It's sad to hear that because I think it turned out awesome. While the gameplay didn't change that much, there were nice innovations and I personally liked the story a lot.

I doubt they'll use BioShock 2 as canon aswell. A hint at that (a very very small one) is the fact that they made the little sisters look like in the first game... in the second they looked more like actual little girls while in the first they had much wider eyes and disproportionnal faces. Here's what I mean in screenshots. Maybe it's irrelevant since the little sisters aged from the first to the second game and some of them were turned into big sisters.

The 2 first screenshots are from the wiki. They are renders of the ingame models. The third one is one of the official wallpapers for Burial at Sea Episode 2. Got it from Irrational Games Twitter feed. And also, as mentioned before, Ken Levine wasn't involved in the developpement. He wrote the first game and infinite aswell as burial at sea as you may have guessed.

Delta has his own backstory so I don't really think this theory could make any sense, I do however, think of Bioshock 2 as canon, but irrelevant nonetheless at the end of the day, it just feels like one more of the many stories that Rapture has seen.

I think they might use it as canon. Did you read the book BioShock: Rapture? Levine did work on that, John Shirley being the writer, giving some more accurate data and stuff. BioShock 2 was referenced a lot in that. It is a true prequel to both 1 and 2. I don't see why would it be a problem to put some references about 2 in Bural at Sea (like seeing Eleanor with Delta before he was "killed" for 10 years and that's all I expect from it actually), it was a different story altogether and didn't contradict anything.

Edit: Regarding Booker as Delta, just no, both have their own backgrounds.

Well I poorly explained what I meant and I'm sorry about that. What I mean was that Bioshock 2 is probally canon yes but I doubt Burial at Sea will use it's story so much. That's what I think but I could be totally wrong! I like the Bioshock serie as a whole and still like Bioshock 2 despise some sparse critical reviews and players that bashed on it. My main argument would be that it isn't Levine's personnal work and that he would probally focus on the very first game instead. As I've mentioned before I may be wrong and if it ends up being really good and mixes both Bioshock 1 and 2 I'll be damn glad to be wrong about it. :P I Hope it makes some sense!

maybe booker is johnny topside like how he is comstock
maybe instead of becoming a detective he became his favorite dream
a sea diver

Unlikely :) Booker was allways booker (unless ive missed something of course), he just changed his name after batism to comstock. Constants and variables :) , in every reality he seems to be always a soldier and a private investigator, and the dlc seems like no exception. Well i guess with this alternative realities stuff anything is possible.

If BS2 is not cannon, than Delta is not cannon as well. Therefore this entire discussion is pointless.
Good night.

Im kinda curious to know how they end up in rapture in the 50s, ive read theories about how Jack is the equivalent of booker (bioshock) and the little sisters Elizabeth (the dress is strangely similar) but their only theories theres no game info that confirms that (alltough theres a connection between rapture and columbia as we´ve seen in the game). Theres allways a lighthouse, a city and a man after all. I guess well see when they release the dlc

I really hope not... if eleanor turns out to be elizabeth or something of kind of alternate/aspect of her the series will be well and truly ruined for me.

I just hope they don't play a cheap card to justify Booker and Elizabeth's presence in Rapture. Something like: "They are born later in that universe that's it" since they told us in the main game that the fact that Booker DeWitt was at the Baptism that day specificly was a constant aswell as him being at the Wounded Knee Massacre.

Many theories elaborate about the possibility that Booker simply skipped Wounded Knee and the Baptism and, in a way, that would be possible in an INFINITE of universe BUT the game has a specific take on the multiverse theory and is that those constants are untouchable basicly. If there wasn't any constants the story would be a total mess!

It's already confusing and much based on personnal interpretation but it doesn't need to be too vague either. Because what's the point of creating a great game with an interesting story if it's to turn out into: everything is possible and plausible and those characters are infact those and so forth. It won't lead nowhere.

I'm sure they will come up with something crafty and interesting. Ken Levine said that the" What is Booker and Elizabeth business in Rapture?" question will be the main theme of the DLC. I can't see them come up with what I mentioned before. It's not their style. I just hope time limitations doesn't make them give up to simpler explanations.

Booker DeWitt is dunked and drowned by the Elizabeths at Wounded Knee and wakes up coughing on the floor of his office in Rapture saying," Wow! That was some dream!"
