I killed a boy of silence

*Spoiler Warning, but not a big one*

To my surprise I found it's possible to kill a boy of silence!

Normally when you encounter these guys if you get seen by them, or shoot them, they'll alert everyone around them and you'll get attacked.
I found that if you use the Spectral Sidekick gear and keep picking up a weapon to lead it over towards the boy of silence, give the weapon line of sight of him and it'll automatically shot at him.
As long as you get him angry at the floating gun, and not you. He'll vanish without alerting anybody and you won't get attacked.

The interesting thing is the odd things that happen after doing this. If you just hurry along, nothing happens. But if you stand around for a while, or move around the room, a weird glow will appear where the boy of silence was and all the people will become alerted as if the boy of silence were there.

Try it out for yourself if you feel up to it. I retried this several times to make the video and each time I got slightly different results.

Why not just kill them? On hard they were not a problem , gotta try 1999...

Gear is random. Every time you pick up gear you get a random item. If you reload the checkpoint you can keep picking up the same gear until you get the one you want, but that approach doesn't always work.

You can just shoot them, get everyone mad and have them all attack you. The point of this was I found a way you can get rid of him without having to sneak or fight which is amusing.

Well what i got is that , there are few with 100% sure places , those will always appear on the same spot (which means you can only get them in one place during the game so they dont go random ) , but the other boxes of gear are random.

Just check to make sure you are not in one of those few and keep reloading.

Well i gotta admit , your trick is really really weird.

Well i will try it also , guess any room we can skip in 1999 is a plus.

The trick worked, but only once. When I first tried it at Comstock House, the gun wouldn't fire on the Boy of Silence. It appears to only work when you can get around to somewhere that the Boy of Silence could find you easily.

Also, if you hang around to long, the little patriots attack you after about thirty seconds.
