Found a very peculiar room... Wondering if anyone knows anything.
When I was in Emporia going to Comstock House I got to the area with the snipers. When I cleared them out I began to look around a bit and I found a room. The room opens with a hair pin lock but was not part of the story line (so the room was not "a must" to complete the objective), it had several portraits in it and 2 lockpicks, NOTHING ELSE. Can someone please tell me what I am missing? The rooms location is immedeatly to the left when you enter the area, I beleive there was a tree if you got to that you went to far, and it is on the left.

are you talking about the one with the two elivator shafts? if that's the one I too am confused of this place i nearly spent five minutes looking if it had like a seret button or something, but nope nothing else.

Yeah, that's the place with the 2 elevators, I didn't find anything interesting either. So I wonder why we needed a hairpin lock, maybe it was an important part but later got cut and the lock stayed.

Maybe we will find something there with DLC stuff ? ^^

yup. thats the room I am talking about. Perhaps the people in the pictures are important? I tried shooting vigors at EVERYTHING and just plain shooting eveything to hopefuly trigger a door. No luck. :(

It's just a random room with loot in it.

Yes. Just returned to the room and its the one where you came back later in the game through the story line. (out of the door which is closed during the first visit) So this is why you need no lockpick to open it. There is nothing special in it.

It opens with a hair pin... Just thought it might have SOME relevance to it.

Ah it was the false one. You mean the one with the elevators. Hm yes this is really strange cause there is nothing relevant for the story in it. (so far..)

anyone have Ken levine's e-mail?

Ah, now I know which room is it. It's a kind of a hotel/apartment block lobby, with two elevators on the back, isn't it? Also, if I remember well, two Comstock guys attack you a short while after you enter it.

Yeah, I found that one a bit intriguing as well. I thought it would be nice to take the elevator and go upstairs, but maybe as people already said, that will be for a DLC.

Did anyone ever try free-roaming the game's map and hopping in the elevator in the elevator shaft to see what was in it? I play on console (i know, i know, im a monster), so I have no clue how to do that– but I was replaying the collection recently and realized I never saw video of that or anything.

I was curious about this room as well. I thought there was maybe something you could do in the elevator shaft that has the exposed electrical cable. If you go into the shaft you get damaged so I figured there could be a way to turn that power off.

Dunno, maybe it was going to be something but was removed. There's definitely no voxophone or kinetoscope tucked away in there because I have the eavesdropper and sightseer pins.

Although It seems suspicious, It's nothing more than a regular room now.
I suspect the events that would be triggered by reaching that area were removed from the game's code. Of course, I could be wrong, and there was never anything important to do there.

I remember there being a lockpick or two in the room, so my guess is that THAT is what the room is for. I remember playing through the first time, there were a few safes and special rooms that I had to bypass because I didn't have enough lockpicks, so on my second playthrough I made a point to explore a lot more - and found out that, if you find them all, there are always enough lockpicks to open every secret, and in fact I think I finished the game with something like a dozen extras that second time through. I guess that for most players the designers expect them to find some but not all, and these are among the ones that are easier to find.

Also, given where it is, it might also be intended to be a safe haven/firing spot when you're trading shots with the snipers.
