Bioshock Infinite audio problems
Hokay so! Every once in a while, and more frequently the longer I play the game, the sound starts to distort, like crazy. Cant understand what anybody is saying, its like the sound slows down. It isnt my speakers, if I mess with the audio settings in game it helps about half the time. Anybody got any idea on fix for this? Graphics work fine, they dont really slow down, tried lowering them and unfixing the frame rate. Helped a little bit for one game session but the problems back.

I've no idea why or how but updating your video card drivers to the latest drivers and turning on comadability for windows vista service pack 2 seems to help alot of people

Audio crackling fix
Update drivers for your graphics card - GeForce 314.22 WHQL Drivers for nVidia cards and AMD Catalyst Beta 13.3 for AMD cards.
Set compatibility mode to Windows Vista SP2.
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BioShock Infinite\Binaries\Win32
Right-click on the BioShockInfinite.exe and select Properties.
Go to Compatibility tab and select Windows Vista SP2.

Im having the audio crackling problem as well, updating my video and sound card drivers didn't fix it, and I can't set the compatibility mode to Vista SP 2 since I am running Vista, not Windows 7 or 8. Anyone know of another fix? Also when it starts happening soon after the ascending, I get really bad FPS loss, I assume they are connected somehow.

I started having the game launch minimized with crackly audio. (I have xfi dedicated sound, gtx780, win7 x64, usually on headphones) The one method I found that seems to re-sync the audio is to 1. launch the creative console launcher 2. launch the game 3. alt-tab out of the game to the creative launcher 4. do the speaker channel test (you may or may not actually hear the 'left ch' 'right ch' etc ) 5. alt-tab back to the game and the audio seems ok 6. continue my last game 7. Have fun. So far this has worked for me every time. Dunno if it will work for anyone else.

Worked for me. I'm using Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer SB0770. Put it on Vista SP2 and no more cracking. Thanks for tip. :Gems:

Vista compatibility mode fixed the sound problems for me too -- i7-2600K, GTX 690, Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional. I've never heard this kind of crackling sound in any other game. Why haven't the BioShock developers acknowledged and fixed the widespread bug yet?

Because it's not just a bug in BioShock, it's a bug in Unreal Engine 3. I wish I knew why it only happens in certain games for me and I really wish I didn't need Windows 7 to fix it.

Yes, it works, but it also changes mouse movement, which is unacceptable for me.
