gear in the cemetery

how the hell do i get the gear in the cemetery? do i have to come back to it after going through comstock house?

there is a piece of gear in memorial gardens to the right of lady comstocks crypt that i was having trouble getting, but i found out how to get it. there are 2 torches on either side of the gate that you use devils kiss on to light them and ope the gate.

Couldnt figure it out myself, even after 2 playthroughs. I thought the graverobbers would eventually open it, but I tested it a couple of times and they didn't. Maybe if you comeback after all the siren fights, but I forgot to test it. Theres also some gear boxes that will show up at certain parts if you do certain things, for example if you choose to throw the ball at the presenter at the start the couple later find you and give you a gear box.

huh? i did try use devils kiss, but they didnt light for me ...

Same for me as for Failboat. Saw the torches but Devil's Kiss didn't work for me... guess I'll get it next playthrough.

I only got 1 torch lit up. I don't know how much DK I threw at the 2nd torch but it wouldn't light up for some reason so I said **** it & went after The Siren lol.

yeah i havent actually put that to the test yet, it's just what i read on the site i found. but if i get it to work i'll let you guys know or if someone else gets it, if you could confirm it that'd be great.

lol well that's one more than i got

Try getting right up close to the torches so that the DK doesn't have a chance to bounce off. I did that just now and it worked.

You can light the torches after the last Siren fight.

Stand up on the ledge right below the "pillar" and throw it underneath the torch and it should light it. It's what I did after numerous attempts.

I used devils kiss on them before entering Comstock's house.

i think the toss has to be dead on. i tried using the volley gun on the left torch and it gives a hit marker.

i went thru 3 bars of salts before getting the left one lit. the right one i did first try though. i did it by standing really far away from the torch. Aimed just above the torch and the devil's kiss bounces of the wall. Nudged my aim down and threw it and got it lit. It won't bounce if you hit it just right.

thanks everyone for the feedback, it's quite appreciated. but alas, i shall have to do it on my 3rd run when i try 1999 mode because i went ahead and went inside comstock house thinking i'd just go back and get it later, but to my dissapointment you can't go back once you go inside. :/
