Most important infusions/weapons/vigors in 1999 mode?
Hello,

I am going to replay Bioshock Infinite on 1999 mode, my question is which weapons I should hold onto for the game, which improvement I should put my infusions (Health/Shield/salt) in and which vigors are the best for completing this difficulty.

Thanks in advance!

I completed it, and I found my go-to strategy was a shotgun and bucking bronco for nearly all men. Weak ones die in one shot, and firemen, rocketeers and crows can easily be shoved off the edge.
As for my secondary gun, I used the sniper rifle. You can't go near patriots or turrets for any reasonable amount of time, so it really helped, alongside removing a fair portion of enemies right off the bat with a few headshots.
Infusions, I quickly took health and salt up to around four, then raised shield to a reasonable amount and then maxed health. Elizabeth's health kits and health kits from tears is what largely kept me alive. You get a lot of them if you really look for them / need them.
I only ever really upgraded bronco to be able to spread and devil's kiss to be more powerful. Burning the bodies of the siren's zombies was my strategy for it.

Bah, I would say just upgrade your common weapons. Just use Carbine + Whatever
Pro Tips:

1.Exploit the hell out of the Restart Checkpoint button. If you lose too much cash in a fight, use it.
2. If you are in a sticky situation, jump off the building into the clouds bellow. There is no penalty, you get time to recharge shield, avoid gunfire and 'reappearing' on the platform costs no money.
3. Imobilizing vigors are important. Bucking/Crows
4. Also note: Return to Sender Shield (Single RIght Click) is OP. Blocks ALL incoming damage and is fairly cheap on the ol' salt.
5. Be PAITIENT behind cover. Scavenge after every fight. Make sure you use Prior knowledge to plan.
6. Personally I would keep about 1k on you at all times. This allows for 10 respawns without too much trouble. Dying once in 1999 cost 100! (Not to mention if you run out and try to respawn it's Game Over screen)

I got lucky on my 1999 playthrough and got the gear that granted you invincibility for a few seconds whenever you healed. I exploited the hell out of that.

i found bronco excessively useful late game, as i could levitate a big baddy, and knock him off the deck and let him fall to his death instead of wasting time and ammo.

Late game, Upgraded Charge + shotgun + Blood to Salt gear, and any other melee gear you have (melee targets take 2x damage is great). This essentially lets you charge up to enemies (refilling your shield), one shot them, getting salts back for charge, then repeat.

You can do this indefinitely, even staying right next to handymen/patriots and tanking the damage by spamming charge and killing a weak NPC whenever you need salts.
