Two guns curse
Why?!!!! Whyyyy???!!!!! It's shame, it's fail, it's disaster. Why do they do games with "no more than 2 guns in hands" in contrast to previous beautiful Bioshocks?! Unbelievable... I hate them. Bioshock was my last hope for gaming in shooter with no limits on gun's backpack. It is shame that BS turns into one of the hundred of CoD clones.

P.S.

Well, after all, I played several hours (after I discovered subj) and can honestly say:
Most of "protectring 2GC (two guns curse) in Bioshock posts here are... false".

They said "it's for more challenging gameplay". It is obviously true (gameplay are harder). But it is not relevant to the game itself. I mean - there are many other ways to make gameplay challenging - (for example "paper, scrissors, rock", more enemies, less ammo and so on. There is no need to cut off gun slots to challenge gameplay!

The said "it's for stimulating to use different weapons". This is lie. In fact it is strongly stimulates to avoid experimentations with weapons and forces me to use strict set of "reasonable" weapons, and excludes wide range of "non comfortable in some situations" ones from inventory. (I play on "normal" diffictulty level, maybe "hard" more chanhe something, but not all gamers like hard mode). So, instead of "using every weapon" I stuck in using small set of weapons! It is wrong and bad for gamplay thing.

Because two guns make sense? I didn't know everyone owned an inifinite bag (heh) that they pulled rpg's, snipers, and machine guns from.

And it makes it better because it adds replaybility, you can specialize in different guns instead of getting used to using every weapon in the game in a single playthough.

It has no meaning to BS where you freely take & carry all kinds of ammo. There is no any reason to limit gun's backpack.

It IS GAME. It is not an reality. Previous Bioshocks has no limits and was excelent GAMES. There is no need to restrict gamplay features!

Pretty much this, what is so fun about having every weapon at your disposal?
If you run out of ammo you can toss your gun for another.
It also makes fights different because you don't always carry the ideal guns to battle.

Morevoer, in game with suprepowerts and interdimensional rifts they can easily explain unlimited gun&ammo backpack. As I think they just failed.

Previous Shock allows multi guns and worked great. This one drops that limit to two and still works great.

It is one of the primary joys of shooters to choose optimal kind of weapon in battle. How the hell must I do it now? Reload game to scene before a battle? Such a shame.
It make sense in ultra-realistic shooters, ARMA and so on. Not in BS!

We are not talking of why they couldn't realistically add another unrealistic element to the game but why not adding it made the game great, it made it more challenging and a added replayability value.

Because it is lame having optimal weapons for every fight.

Because of the 2-weapon limit, I had such a hard time going through Command Deck on Hard setting. My fault for playing Hard right from the outset, but it did bend my brain trying to compensate for my wrong focus on weapon upgrades. I went with the hand canon + carbine full stop. Going with the Repeater and Carbine, and full Shock Jock on the second play made the victory so much easier. But I felt good when I won it the first time because the game forced me to think and improvise with the limit.

As for me, this trend to "occasionally" place optimal for near battle weapon along the way to it looks as dirty trick.

I'm more pissed that they took out multiple ammunition and a physical change to your weapons when you upgrade them. Still an amazing story though.

No, no it doesn't. That was just a cop-out excuse that Bungie came-up with as a better justification for why Halo only allowed two weapons, when the real answer was "It's easier to cycle weapons on consoles when you just have to swap between two with a single button".

That's the only reason that trend got started: to help FPS titles fit into console more easily.

As for me, I miss the days shooters had 10 slots for weapons. I feel no joy then in game I have no freedom to choose best weapon for battle just in time. No joy of need to reload level, no joy of "occasionally placed" weapons nearby, no joy of fortune-driven difficulty. There is many was to give challenging gameplay without cutting and limiting. And I feel sad for one of the rare games which was no cursed by subj to become cursed.
