1999 mode Scavenger hunt question

So, i'm running through the game on 1999 mode, and having gotten to Finkton proper without so much as a single upgraded gun or vigor, my question is does using the vigor or weapon machines invalidate the achievement? After running into a handyman for the first time I...think I may need to upgrade atleast something.

The achievment specifically only mentions not using Dollar Bills vending machine. In other words, you have to scavenge for health, salts and bullets.

I bought a few gun upgrades, and got the achievement at the end of the game :] Didn't so much as enter the Dollar Bill store. Just be careful!

You can enter the store, you just can't buy anything.

You can buy as many weapon and vigor upgrades you want, just no items like ammo, health, salts, or lockpicks.

You may enter it but NOT buy anything from the 'Dollar Bills' vending machine AND you can buy anything thing from the other two vending machines.

Almost finished the game, beat almost all achievements and saw this Scavenger thing. Ironically I used Dollar Bills vending machine just once in the very beginning of the game even without a real reason for it. LOL. I hate this 1999 mode so much because of horrible autosave system with really rare checkpoints. So I don't want to beat 1999 mode second time.

Can someone upload a savegame (the final autosave) with this achievement? : )

i got scavenger hunt and i upgraded my guns and vigors like it was going out of style.

you just cant buy anything from bill.

i recently completed the game without buying anything from the dollar store, i had even done that when playing it the first time through so i was used to NOT buying anything and i still didnt get the achievement after completing it on 1999. im kinda annoyed about it.

EDIT: i spoke too soon. i closed it out, loaded it back up and got the two achievements as the menu loaded. weird.

You may upgrade your vigors and weapons, only the dollar bill machine is forbidden.
