[SPOILER] Who was Esther?

Having completed the game, and now playing through again, I notice the thread with who Esther is was never cleared up. You bump into her as you're leaving Battleship Bay, and she calls Elizabeth 'Anna', which makes me think she knows something, although Elizabeth says she's never seen her before.

I believe she fights you as part of the ambush and dies, so she never recurs, but has anyone found any more information on her, an audio log or something? Any theories?

she was basically a agent of comstock sent out to recapture elizibeth, she would obviously have info on her target. or maybe there is more to her, if so its a shame she dies with in 2 minutes of meeting her :p
