Cannot pick up the old man winter plasmid in burial at sea DLC

Am I the only one having a problem picking up the old man winter plasmid? The display case is open and initially there was an open tear with a single plasmid bottle which I could not pick up using the F key. After quitting and restarting there are now several bottles lying at all sorts of angles. I cannot pick them up either. Am I missing something really obvious or is this a bug? When Elizabeth opened the display case I was killed almost immediately afterwards (possibly as the tear opened). Could this be significant?

Yeah those are empty , you need to pick the one that is inside the tear.

I had no idea you could pick that before killing all your enemies.

You're supposed to grab the one in the tear. You have to actually step into the tear I believe.

Well I restarted the level and played it through again and everything went OK this time. I did notice that you cannot actually pick up the single plasmid in the tear until Elizabeth has finished her speech about tears (pretending they are a new kind of plasmid). Then you get the option to pick up. I think I must have got killed before she finished her speech and when I came back the tear was still open, but the single plasmid had been replaced by the collection of used up plasmids and it was impossible to get the single one back again. Seems to me that this is a bug which only happens if you get killed between opening the tear and picking up the plasmid.

Yes, you may have hit on an odd condition of logic that they didn't expect. So you were able to open the tear while a baddie was still around? And then he/she killed you, you regenerated, and then couldn't complete the sequence?

Yes. That's about it. After regeneration I was standing right beside the cabinet, the tear was open, but instead of a single usable plasmid there were lots of used up ones. Try as I might I could not pick anything up from the cabinet (no prompt appeared to press F) but Elizabeth kept on nagging me to get the plasmid and stood there gazing at the open door.

Just started Burial at Sea, got the same problem. Killed most of the enemies, talked to Elizabeth, was about to pick it up when a lady with a machine gun walked up behind Elizabeth and shot me to death. Very rude. When I got better, the Vigor wasn't in the Tear for the grabbing.
