During the baptism in Bioshocj Infinite we get the universe where Bookers does take the baptism and becomes Comstock. Everything goes along like we see in the game but then there is another spilt where there are two possible outcomes; Comstock succeeds in stealing baby Elizabeth or fails becuase she doesn't survive the struggle between Booker and Comstock accross the two universes. Burial At Sea is pretty much events which take place in this third universe.
As a sidenote; there is also a universe where Booker ends up with a headless (and very dead) baby Elizabeth. How much more that screwed up Booker we MIGHT never know.
Close! The Lutece Gate, unlike Elizabeth, tends to scramble the memories of the traveler. This happened to Booker in the main game, as you might recall.. as another example, Robert's own memories got scragged when Rosalind brought her dimensional analog in, and she helped him. this is why they are so alike they can even finish each other's sentences.
I think that the Booker in Bioshock Infinite, at first had his memories scrambled when he went through a tear. But as he gain experience at tear jumping, he got better at remembering with each jump.
In Burial at Sea this was a new Booker who had only been through one tear. So his memory was scrambled.
The best theory I've seen about why this particular Comstock was important said that, basicly, since this Comstock had willingly jumped into another universe where there was no Ana, no Booker, no Columbia, etc, he couldn't be reached by Elizabeth's universal cleansing of Comstocks, basicly he was out of reach, and all alone during Burial at Sea Elizabeth was simply finishing what she started, "debt collection" as she calls it, but taking out Comstock just like that would be unfair, so she had to make him remember him what he had done, so he could truly be sorry about it, and be propperly punished for it.
Anyway it's possible that these events take place before what we saw at the end of Infinite. We know that there are a bunch of universes each with there own set of Booker, Elizabeth and/or Comstock. Each with it's one different version of the story. I wonder if this is just another Elizabeth and not the one we saw in Infinite.
Comstock had Elizabeth locked up; but it's possible there is a universe where she escapes before Booker shows up.
The who muiltiple universe trope allows the go anywhere with the games; but it can become a bit too much like time travel stories. :)
This Comstock escaped to another universe before the ending of Infinite, so he basicly got away with it, since he wasn't even on his original universe, and he was in one in which he didn't even exist, so he couldn't be erased basicly, or at least that seems reasonable.
It's been confirmed this happens after the ending of Infinite, the Elizabeth in Burial at Sea is the same Elizabeth we knew from the main game, and she has been shaped by the events of Infinite.
Most likely, but it's kind of irrelevant in any regard.
Well, Levine said in an interview that Episode 2 of Burial at Sea would be surprisingly conclusive for the whole Infinite story, despite the multiverse nature of the story.
So for Booker in Burial at Sea, this all happened before the Comstock removal.
Seems more like DeWitt still gets baptised, becomes Comstock but fails to get Anna so he goes into hiding to forget what he's done.
Would still love to see more of Rapture just before it goes to heck.
Elizabeth knew what had happened to Anna in the flashback. She knew who Booker was and that he had lost another girl. So when she turned up in his office, she was angry.
To quote Booker from Infinite "I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her temper."
