Mouse look stuttering Fixed.
I was having trouble playing with the mouse. The game ran smoothly until I moved the mouse.

Any time I tried to look or aim the game stuttered and jerked as if the framerate suddenly dropped, but there was no decline in FPS.

I plugged in my Xbox 360 controller and the game played smoothly with no jerking at all. That told me that there was some sort of problem with my mouse and not the game or my PC.

After about a half hour of screwing around I figured it out.

It was the polling rate. I had mine set to 1000 and it worked great in any other game I've played without stuttering. Bioshock does not care for a high polling rate for some reason and it was creating jerky movement and stuttering.

I went into my mouse driver and turned the polling rate down to 500 and noticed improvement, but it didn't fix the issue completely, looking still wasn't smooth, but the skipping and jerking was much less severe. I dropped the polling rate to 125 and now the game runs smoothly without jerky motions when I look with the mouse regardless of sensitivity settings.

If you're having trouble with jerky stutter when looking and not when moving, all you should need to do is turn down the polling rate on your mouse and the problem should be fixed.

It goes without saying that the game is much better when you can aim properly and look about.

Dude Hello from the future thank you so much. I had lost hope fixing the terrible stuttering I had, until I narrowed it down to only happening with the mouse and found your post.

Have a great day.

Anyone with a problem with the game? Go into Options (in the game) and to Graphics ... look for lock framerate and turn it OFF. I cannot believe the game is playing soooo much better now. I had trouble with all the menus etc and mouse just going nuts. Hope this helps. I cannot remember where I found this idea somewhere in the discussions here. Just wanted to pass this one before I forget.
