Through the game, Elisabeth open tears to some "future" music. And I had found following references through the game:

• "Fortunate Son" - Creedence Clearwater Revival (also appears in Battlefield Vietnam)
  
• "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" - Cyndi Lauper

Have you met some others?

Have these references something to do with the history, or are they just Easter Eggs?

They have everything to do with the story and there's a lot of them. The Barber shop quartet song (God only Knows) is one of them..
